2 forced trades by George in a handful of years, both before his walk year, but AD/Lakers are the target? Same ole story. The worst part is that the current CBA was supposed to be their anti-Lakers/big market CBA..how's it working out? Guys are turning down that 5th year and the supermax left and right. They still haven't figured it out. For every GSW that was fortunate enough to have drafted their championship mix, there are 100 Oklahoma City type of situations. Not that everybody is drafting a bunch of former MVPs, but we have plenty of teams that don't know what to do with the young talent that they're given. OKC has nothing to show for that era. These small smarket teams just have to do a better job of running what they have going on. Stop the bitching and finger pointing
Kerr is such a little weasel bitch. He gets a super team (that Luke Walton coached better than he did) because of a salary cap loophole, but players writing their own ticket is bad for the game? Little Popovitch is really salty.
So many of the stars bowing out of the FIBA USA stuff that Kuz is going to make the team and play. Don't know if that's good or bad. Maybe some of both
When you look at the total ass job he pulled in OKC, I am just dumbfounded how the press is saying Presti made out good in the Westbrook trade because of the picks. Isn’t this the org that didn’t want to go into the lux tax for Harden? That team had Westbrook, KD, Harden and Ibaka. Then signed PG only to have him leave a year into his contract. Morey May have bailed him out a bit, but to me, Presti is an absolute joke of a GM.
I'm sure Presti would have liked to keep Durant, Harden and Westbrook together. That's probably his boss's shortsighted decision not to pay the luxury tax. I guess you could make an argument that a good GM would manage his boss better, though. Given that OKC was going nowhere with a Westbrook/George core, I think he got a pretty good haul of picks when he hit the reset button. Remains to be seen if he can turn those into a competitor, though.
Overrated. If the Lakers ever drafted 3 young MVP talents the league would just cancel the draft. All of Pop's cronies are overrated. How Ferry is even still getting jobs is beyond me. Hope San Antonio never misses the playoffs. I hope they stay right on the 7th-8th seed treadmill and never get bailed out in the draft lottery. And George sitting up there at his presser, acting as if he didn't go to Presti and request the move..funny how the media didn't press him for the truth. Think George is getting away with it because nobody really cares about him. People know that he's not that good anyway and that he doesn't truly tilt the balance of power. Dame Lillard roasted George's nuts over camp fire, dropped 50 on him and the game winner from 50 feet out. No more talk from George. " Next question. "
Wish the Grizzlies would hurry and figure their shit out. Feel like Iggy would neutralize George in a playoff series..that's how weak George is when it really matters. A past his prime Iguodala could probably lock him up in May
To be fair George was playing with two bum shoulders and Lillard hitting a 50 footer is hardly an indictment of George. That said, it was a weak move begging out of OKC a year after signing his deal.
Yeah, I'll let the Fresno State guy be fair to the Fresno State guy. Always an excuse with George, always some sort of ailment..always under-performing in the playoffs. Been underwhelming in 3 successive years in the playoffs, so it's not just about coming up short against Lillard or his shoulders or the western conference or whatever. But Lillard is definitely fresh on the brain, and he is supposed to be better than Lillard..he's supposed to be a top tier defender and just a better player. When it matters, Iguodala's defense over George's defense and quite easily. Iguodala showed how you're supposed to defend Lillard with time ticking down in a tight playoff contest. Big damn difference between this and this Get your ass out there and put real pressure on the ball. Can't let the guy just dribble into a rhythm shot
And of course, to slam the indictment home..when George wasn't saying " next question " after losses, he was calling Lillard's game/series winner a " bad shot. " https://www.12up.com/posts/6365405-...d-30-feet-makes-paul-george-sound-like-a-fool Lillard has made more 30-footers (nine) in these playoffs than the rest of the NBA (eight) despite 70 fewer attempts. He's shooting an absurd 69% from at least 30 feet, almost seven times better than the rest of the league in terms of efficiency. Overall NBA Shooters Make 25.9% of their shots between 30-40 feet. Lillard made 20 of 51 such shots this season, which is 39% - the same 3P% as Joe Ingles, Paul George, and Patty Mills had overall! Perhaps next time PG should just tip his cap to a job well done rather than venting his frustration and making himself look like a sore loser in the process. KYP..know your personnel. George is looking like the basketball version of Kenley Jansen. No accountability after losses, and even a step further than Kenley..none in requesting a trade for the 2nd time in like 3 or 4 years either.
Los Angeles LakersVerified account@Lakers OFFICIAL: Jason Kidd, Lionel Hollins, Phil Handy, Miles Simon, Mike Penberthy and Quinton Crawford have been named assistant coaches for the upcoming season. Lol My guy
Yup. Just a few years ahead of myself. Saw him play a couple times back then before his LAL stint, random runs
Cool to see him back with LAL. I know Shaq is happy. He loved Penberthy back in the day, still likes to bring him up every so often
