Would be surprised if the Rockets were able to do a damn thing. Game slows down in the playoffs and they're going in the opposite direction - yet again. They stay where they are in the standings and Utah is gonna be immediate trouble
Russell finally lands in Minnesota with his BFF Towns. Now, they can lose together. Wiggins on the Warriors is more interesting
Worst rated defensive player.............ever. Warriors have a lot of work on their hands. Butler was 100% right about the Wolves tho.....losing culture out there with soft guys that refuse to play defense.
Now, they're going down swinging - basically what this Russell trade says. They have to know at this point, that Towns isn't the guy..and then they throw another high priced log that isn't the guy on the fire just to try and keep the 1st guy happy and in town. Smh Is it better than the trade demand that was soon to come from Towns? Debatable.
That's why Butler wanted to whoop his ass....Towns refuses to play a lick of defense. He is the king of empty stats....he may score you 30 points, but he's giving up 40.
Me too, but I think they could make the Clippers sweat. Game 6/7 is usually when the Houston choke job happens though.....I just think they're as best of a bet as anyone outside of the Lakers of challenging the Clippers. Jazz are pretenders-8-13 vs teams over .500.
And Russell fits right in with that thought process. Depending how much both Towns and Russell are able to fool themselves into thinking they want to win - their friendship could go to hell in Minny. They really should just relax, make their money and accept their L's. They don't want the smoke - well - Russell does, but not that smoke.
Now, that they've given up their size, I'd expect HOU to have their hands full with Gobert/Jazz. Reg-season records can create an illusion at times. Harden struggled mightily against the Jazz in the playoffs last year. Even more than his usual playoff struggles. Harden's just well aware that the Jazz have that big MF in the lane and that nothing's easy in there. Add in the fact that refs aren't calling a bunch of dumb fouls and helping him in that area - don't be surprised if the Jazz put a foot in their ass this time.
Kevin O'Connor@KevinOConnorNBA League sources have long believed that Darren Collison's preference is the Lakers over the Clippers. With Isaiah Thomas now going to the Clippers, it's reasonable to expect the Lakers to eventually sign Collison. Would expect Troy Daniels to get waived....unless Rondo bitches about his diminishing role - then he goes. I'd expect Rondo to play it cool, though.
Yahoo Sports NBA@YahooSportsNBA The Lakers didn't make a trade, but they are expected to work out Darren Collison and JR Smith per@TheSteinLine Need a Rambis to block this JR Smith tomfoolery
Never been a big Gobert fan, but we shall see....I look at the NBA and see 3 true title contenders: Clips, Lakers, and Bucks.
Matt Barnes is saying Collison is 50-50 on returning....Clippers not keeping IT. Grrrrrr just please don't sign JR Smith.
Not a big Gobert fan either, but he made Harden mind his manners in that series. And now they have Westbrook - who can't shoot worth a damn - and so to try and make up for his inability to shoot, they've gone small @ the 4 and 5 with guys that can shoot. But they're still gonna have Westbrook's guy crowding the lane and sending him to Gobert if he dives to the basket. HOU is so small defensively, at this point, I could actually see them struggling to contain a slasher like Clarkson. FWIW, Clarkson's been damn good off the Jazz bench since being traded there earlier in the season
Never know what could be the hold up with Collison. A different guy. Could be the usual - wanting to clear up his role with the team before joining, or something else entirely that has nothing to do with basketball
Trevor Lane@Trevor_Lane Paul Pierce arguing that he doesn't see how Collison would help the Lakers because they already have Rondo... Marking the 3rd time Pierce has done this stupid shit. Somebody on that show hates him.
LeBron = 18 points on 19 shots Kuzma = 4 points on 8 shots Rondo = 2 points on 5 shots Trash x 3 And Darren Collison was actually at this game, in the crowd watching Westbrook kill LAL
Looks like Pierce can hang it up. Collison was seen @ dinner with Jeanie and Kurt R. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/EQJJ0G3X0AU0-gG?format=jpg
Tania Ganguli@taniaganguli Darren Collison is sitting with Jeanie Buss and her friends at this game. They just showed him on the video board and the crowd cheered. Dave McMenamin@mcten Darren Collison on his night at Staples Center: "Just watching the game. Ain't nothing to it. Got the best seats in the house."
