I know League sucks, but he might have been playing the matchups. Torres is a switch hitter and Crawford the lefty followed. Torres ended up getting a hit and Paco was brought in.

My problem isn't with Donnie, it's with League. Do your fucking job.

First offf, those games are VERY rare for us are they not? I mean VERY rare. Second, he will never recover only pitching in those games that rarely occur. Tonight, our pen was all used up. The other options were who? Moylen(aweful), Guerrier(just as bad as anybody) and Paco. Anyone I forget? IF League got through that inning, Paco would be rested. If Paco starts that inning and a disaster happens like they take a lead or tie...well we'd be fucked.

Again, I'm sticking with a perfect move by Don. The worst happened and we still won.

Even if, Paco is significantly better against righties than League is against lefties.

I get what you're trying to say Ford, but when it comes to league, I'm of the mind set he should only play in garbage time when we're either winning be a lot or losing by a lot. League hasn't earned a position to save a game. We have to play close to perfect from now on for the poor play we displayed early in the year. Now is not the time to have a guy with a 5 ERA and all the blown saves come into a game against a division rival to save a game.

Exactly. He was givin the chance with a short leash and failed. It's ALL ON HIM! He's not being payed to be a mop up guy or practice in AAA. He's supposed to be the closer.

You shouldn't have to use all your good pitchers with a 3 run lead. and you shouldn't do it. He did because League sucks.
We do have more games to play, a big one tommorrow where we may not have a 3 run cushion.

%^&*#%$...you guys would bitch if you won a million dollars and it was in $20 bills..
Really? NOW You're complaining because we won 6-5 instead of 6-4?

K-Gotcha...I guess I'll bow out now and try to enjoy the 1st winning streak of 2013 against the hated ones.

Dude, I'm pissed because he didn't handle the situation perfectly and this could have been much worse than it already was

Stop being such a Mattingly apologist. There is a reason why his own fucking team didn't hire him.

Also, please stop saying Kenley can't hold a closer's role. That's something out of his control due to health reasons. If you want to talk about not being able to hold a closer's role, then look at the guy you think is eventually going to be one. League was taken out of the closer's role in Seattle. SEATTLE.

That was a perfect spot for League to come in the game, in all honesty

He fucking blew chunks again, can't really blame Donnie

I'm all for League going on a phantom DL stint tho, if nothing else a mental break

    Yer damn right noob!
I'm a fighter! Achilles is my hero! I will stand up for what's right against all comers. Don is a shithead sometimes, but when he's right, I got his back. He is learning on the job from his mistakes (and the mistakes of his shitty team)and that is a good thing.

All I thought about when League came in is "those guys on DSP are going to go apeshit if League blows this". I thought, "Don you better have someone ready to come in if 2 guys get on legit". He did exactly what I would've done...so I have to defend the moves because in my eyes, it was perfect. It was far worse than I'd expected though because it was back to back doubles after the bloop. Fucking League was terrible. Damn it!

BTW, did anyone here think Kemp should've caught that blooper. Noone on and a 3run lead...I'm diving for that shit! I bet most CFers catch that...or at least attempt to.
Also, I hated that they let Pence steal 2nd and take away the DP chance for League(a groundball pitcher). Turns out it didn't matter, but I question that call too.

LOL, yeah what was I thinking. I should be bitching because we won by 1 run and not 2...or maybe because "this could have been much worse than it already was"!!!

And his own team didn't hire him? WTF are you talking about? the Yankees? Hmmm, aparently they didn't want Torre either. LMAO...how many managers out there did the Dodgers let go, they must suck too then?
I'll stop being a Mattingly apologist when you stop being a Mattingly hater. Are we good now?

Well we disagree on that I suppose
    Clearly had no command
I understand Pence blooped one but I bring in Paco to face Torres

And I'm not so sure a save situation was the right time to have League in there in the first place. It's the same thing every time out of League. If Kemp doesn't make that play League is charged with 3 runs to tie the game. It was a bad initial move and not a great job of getting him out on time. JMO. You don't see me going hog wild. We won. But sorry I disagree on Donnie. I even made a thread in regards to not blaming him for the overall product. I was completely off him for a while. But he let's the same things happen over and over. Not all of it is in his control but yeah.

What Fordie is saying does make a fair amount of sense but that doesn't change the fact I didn't want League in the game.
