    interesting thought...
with boras being (somewhat) recently displaced by cano
could we use cano as leverage against guerrero/boras?
just throwing it out there :stirpot:

    What if that doesn't happen?

Phillips at 4/50 is hell of a lot better than Cano 8/200+.

My wonder right now is kershaws contract. He has a horrible start tonight pitched a ton of innings and just recently went on three days rest. 30 million per? Is he healthy?

    Get Guerrero
    Look at upgrading Catcher
Shop around for a 3B or bring back Uribe for 1 year
    Get Tanaka

There arent alot of spots to work with. they gotta decide who the 3 outfielders gonna be. then its basically 3rd, 2nd and C. Ellis has such great chemistry with the guys i doubt they pursue other options. and he is super cheap. 2b is clear they want to upgrade. they know they have nobody in the farm that will be ready for that spot so they want guerrero. at third its basically a stop gap till Seager.
what we need is a leadoff hitter. puig is not that. we need a professional hitter at that spot and i dont think one exists. thats the key.

Clearly our biggest needs are at catcher 2B and 3B.

At second we have Guerrero, an unproven but fairly cheap option, Cano is proven but pricey. We have an option with Ellis who has been adequate.

Third gets a little dicey, we need a stop gap guy to get us to Seager. Is Uribe the guy? Up until this year I think all of us would've given a collective "fuck no" to the prospect of resigning him. The FA market is thin Uribe, Mark Reynolds, Michael Young and Youkilis lead the pack.

Catcher is weak as well. McCann, pierzinsky (sp?) and saltalamaccia (sp?)

    Tough call

Let Uribe go. He had a nice year this year for what was expected. He was a vacuum at third base and came up with some big hits. But he's gonna want more than one year and when you look at his offensive numbers objectively, relative to his position...no thanks. He is capable of hitting under .200 again. Mark my words.

Mark did a fine job. But good riddance.

    AJ is a backup catcher.

Carl, Matt, and Andre are fair game. See what can be done.

Like I said in the game thread...losing will make it easier not to keep guys around for the wrong reasons..ala Giants.

I think letting Kemp walk is a massive mistake.

The organization needs more fixing than the lineup. Losing organization will always find a way to lose, example, Dodgers.

    fire Mattingly
hire Dusty Baker ( at least Dusty has experience and is a Dodger)
trade Kemp, Billingsley and cash for David Price ( throw 3 lefties and Greinke @ STL next year)
    re-sign Brian Wilson
sign Guerrero to play SS, not 2B
    move Hanley to 3B
    re-sign Uribe as utility man @ 3B and 1B
bring Mark Ellis back as backup 2B
trade Zach Lee for Howie Kendrick, Kendrick to play 2B
    sign Tanaka
    sign Brian McCann
call Joc P. up to start in CF
deal Ethier and cash for a bag of sunflower seeds ( for Dusty)

    roll out.

    R Puig RF
    L Joc CF
    R Hanley 3B
    L AGon 1B
    R Guerrero SS
    L McCann/AJ C
    R Kendrick 2B
    L CC LF

    Kershaw, Greinke, Price, Tanaka, Ryu

Fire Don Mattingly IF there's a sound replacement(an overwhelming upgrade) available. Dusty Baker is SHIT! Love him, but give me a fucking break...the guy is a disaster.
Trading Kemp is a huge mistake, especially if it means keeping Ethier to start in the OF. IMO, Ethier or CC have to go.
Moving Hanley to 3B is probably a good idea...but then what? Hope Dee gets better at SS? How long to you sign him for with Seager on the way to 3B?
Brian Wilson would be a great guy to keep...but when will he start claiming he's a closer or he wants to be one elsewhere?
I'm still liking Howie Kendrick and not Guerrero...but Mark Ellis must be replaced.
IF Hanley is kept at SS, WE NEED to get a solid hitting SS backup. That's probably impossible considering if a SS can hit, he isn't a backup...but replacing the injury prone hanley is impossible at SS.

too funny about the boom box...

And do you REALLY think Baker is any worse than DBB? Holy cow toss a coin and expect it to land on it's edge why don't you?
