repetition. BP guys are throwing all the time not adhering to any set schedule I think Bills should temper his expectations to include the BP as well
On my way back from work early this morning I heard about Beli and immediately got excited because I had a feeling they wouldn't let him go unless they were close on Wilson. Great to see that it may indeed be on the horizon. Real glad we lost out on Johnson.
Or Nathan signed because Kinsler is now a Tiger. Maybe even Wilson thought they would be weaker without Fielder On a another note what is with all the catchers moving to new teams!!!!!!!!!!! http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2013/12/rays-to-acquire-ryan-hanigan.html
posting from my new phone some of the stuff was disappearing so i had to repost weird anyone else have these problems? or is it just me? :jethro:
It appears I was completely wrong. I will caveat that the facts are not in yet. We don't know what the Tigers offered or what his deal with the Dodgers will be. It could be the Tigers low-balled him, but I doubt it. As far as the beard, I could live without it. The only way I can see it as 'marketable' is if he dyes it Blue. I guess there is a demographic out there that it appeals to though.
his entire act appeals to a demographic, but none of it would mean much if he sucked. it's just the cherry on top for the Dodgers...1st - he's really good and stone cold in tight situations, 2nd- they get him on a pretty good 1yr deal, 3rd- they can make a little money off him and have him do silly/entertaining stuff on their new channel. it's a win-win-win. if they land Tanaka i'd imagine a large portion of Japanese fans embracing whacky Wilson as well...especially because he'd be helping nail down wins for Tanaka. it's kind of hard to name a WS favorite in general, let alone before the offseason starts, but Vegas has the Dodgers as the favorites...well with Wilson handling the 8th, being the favorite feels a hell of a lot more legit now. the 7th and 8th innings are just as important as the 9th inning...to basically have 2 good closers going for us in the final 2 innings is major. now only if Withrow could build on this past year... the beard is definitely marketable and that's with or without dye...it's just a beard and it feels weird talking about it this much, but his beard really puts all of the Red Sox's beards to shame and Boston received a huge amount of hype/marketability for their little beards without dying them. there was a moment where i thought Wilson was gonna go join Boston and that they'd crown him The Beard King of Boston or some crazy shit. luckily for us though, he's an LA/Cali guy. but yeh i hope there's no plan for dying it blue. the little blue rubber band he puts on it is good enough. just come in and get outs
