Greinke bailing after his "prime years" wouldn't be the worst thing in the world, I'm certain he won't opt out and would welcome him back, but yeah.

Hear me. If the plan stays, Gugs has it figured out to the month when players come, go, and are replaced with cheaper and younger alternatives.

Great minds think alike, I've been telling my buddies the same thing. It's the only sensible plan going forward. The only problem with the plan is of course is that you have to be extremely patient. I have confidence that the management will follow through I'm just not sure our fellow Dodger fans will have the same resolve.

Dodgers claim SS Carlos Triunfel from Seattle. Former pretty good prospect, got hurt, still has talent.

I'm skeptical he has anything great left, but it's worth a shot.

Decided to make this an injuries thread as well, since we'll have more news about that in these first months than we really will with trades and what not.

So, Bills is starting his rehab starts on Sunday. He'll get about 5 starts, and if no setbacks that sets him up to return in May. Not bad

I wonder if they throw him into the starting five or put him in the bullpen but of course we've seen that shit changes all the time with injuries so we have no idea where our holes will be when/if he comes back on time.

I assume that since he is starting in the minors that he would start with us.

Like Chief said, with him starting in the minors then he is likely in the rotation when healthy. Not like we don't need him, Kershaw hurt, Beckett is always hurt and Maholm is not better than Bills. Man if he can return to form and Kershaw comes back healthy, our rotation is scary as hell.

Beckett seems to have injured himself in his rehab game, don't know how serious

By Steve Adams [April 11 at 2:03pm CST]

Rule 5 Draft pick Seth Rosin has cleared waivers after being designated for assignment by the Rangers and been returned to the Phillies, both teams announced. Rosin will report to Triple-A Lehigh Valley.

Rosin, 25, was selected by the Mets with the 10th pick in the Rule 5 Draft last December and promptly traded to the Dodgers for cash considerations. The Rangers then claimed the right-hander off waivers from the Dodgers before designating him for assignment in order to clear a roster spot for Kevin Kouzmanoff (a move that was likely necessitated by a relatively minor injury to Adrian Beltre).

The former fourth-round pick has a 4.00 career ERA in the minor leagues to go along with solid ratios of 8.3 K/9 and 2.7 BB/9. Prior to his selection in the Rule 5 Draft, Rosin had never appeared in a game above the Double-A level.

Does anyone think that Ned, in his infinite wisdom, is looking for a deal for a catcher? I don't dislike Fedex, or Butera either, but IDK if AJ ever returns and becomes an offensive force, and Fedex and Butera pretty much aren't.
I guess if the team can live up to it's offensive potential, we can carry a good glove/no hit C, but it would be nice to expect something out of that spot in the lineup.
We seem to have had some pretty good ones (not great) in recent history, but they don't wind up for one reason or another, with us. And we seem to fill that spot with someone not quite as good as the guy who moved on.
Anyway, I was just wondering if anyone else has a hunch on this....
