The Ethier/Milton trade is the worst trade in Dodger history.

It doesn't help that we have no one better at CF. Well, we do, but he's not making the team this year.

I just hope tonight was just a bad night and we can still win this series.

    Still hurts though.

We had it in the bag.

How you go from the top of the baseball world on Wednesday night to the bottom of it in ineptness on Friday is beyond me.
It makes me think that the Dodgers are not for real.
CK is...but perhaps not the team as a whole. That game should have been in their pocket, but they made us look weak.
And just like we knew that the Giants weren't going to win forever, they won't lose forever, either.
In spite of Jansen's place as a closer league -wise, many of his stints have been pretty shaky....and that's OK, as long as the game is won...almost anyhing is if you W.
But maybe it's me, but I don't hear anything about the "Mo-like" cutter anymore...or see it. His ball seems to be pretty straight. I'm just not seeing the devastating cutter. And I don't hear it mentioned by announcers any more. My imagination maybe.
    Maybe I'm just missing it.
But if he had it last night, it sure wasn't obvious to me...looked like one meatball after another.
We had another pretty good closer who threw a straight fastball. But he threw faster than Jansen. He had lots of saves too, top of the NL in fact for a while, but then he failed bigtime when we needed him most.
Sooner or later, without movement, this stuff happens.
We'll see...sure smacks you right back down to earth after an historically great pitching performance though. Whew!

IMO, DBB should have been out there, in the ump's face and gotten thrown out. Do fucking something when you get screwed like that. It was a perfect pitch. Can't agree the inning would play out the same....nothing is ever the same, but an out is an out...and so damn obvious.
Another thing that bothers me, you never hear anything from Scully on shit like that. I know that's a grevious offense against the Law of God to say such things, but nevertheless, it's flat out true. Not even the Fox box graphic on it. C'mon...that was one time "the Dodgers didn't get a break".
The umpires still blow, and the replay has proved that in most cases, they suck as much as they ever did.
And Black was right about the ump making the out call on SVS...if you're a IF, and the ump gives the out sign, you go on and continue the play.
I'm glad we were right, but Black had a very strong arguement; the umps just walk away, and their incompetence reigns supreme. The overall crews I see in the games I watch (lots) suck elephant penis, basically. The newer umps have added nothing to improve anything. Just younger suckitude.

sad turn of events. at least SF lost again.

Crawford was right..Ethier's gonna sit his ass down when he gets back if he's not hitting. Ethier is SO bad.

    forget the blown strike call
kenley blew that game, not the umpire
and you know why he didn't get that call?...
rewatch it if you can... aj called for that pitch up, and kenley missed down in the zone
you miss the target that badly and a lot of times you won't get the call

Yup and you can blame the defense f you want, but if those catches are made they're amazing catches. Maaaayyybbbeee Joc makes it but idk. Point is, Kenley blew the game in every way you can define it, he got hit hard

Idk if it makes a difference or not but how does no coach or catcher go out and talk to him a bit? It might be inconsequential but that seemed weird (unless I missed that).

A tough game to lose cause the Padres offense blows and giving up 6 runs to them is pathetic. But let's hope it's a bump in the road for Kenley and not a trend, a "learning experience"

I'm still sad that we traded away Paul Konerko in 98 for Jeff f'n Shaw.

    great quote...
    • "With all due respect, I mean it's Seth Smith. It's not Babe Ruth," Haren said. "He was pretty much Babe Ruth tonight. I mean, he's hit me well in the past and it was just a little bit of frustration."

I'm glad i ended up going to the movies last night and not watching that debacle. Talk about going from the highest of highs to the lowest of lows in a matter of a couple of days.

"There are always close games with these guys,'' Dodgers manager Don Mattingly said.

"To me, they are one of those clubs that are tough to beat."

    Like all of them?
