Brian Jordan was giving Puig a lot of praise after the game. Loves the way he runs out of the box and thinks he's the most exciting player in baseball. Refreshing to hear

Ethier might never play again and he doesn't even care.

Ethier came out and said he's fine with whatever role he has to take to be on this team, I can respect that, I guess.

Good lineup for me to go see, tonight

Fun Stat: In 57 games started by Kershaw, Greinke and Ryu, the Dodgers are 37-20 (.649)

All others: 23-27 (.460), not as bad as I thought.

If we don't trade one OF, even if it's Pederson, by tomorrow I'll be both surprised and angry.

We can't go the rest of the season with 5 OFs like this, with Pederson just shitting in Triple A. We can't end the season like this.

We can't trade Kemp csuse of salary and it'd make the offense worse. Crawford isn't going to raise his trade value, even if he plays well he's a wrong step away from injury. Ethier isn't playing so he isn't gonna raise his trade value. The only way Joc could raise it is playing in the MLB. I guess cutting down on K's but he's shown he belongs in the MLB.

Can't just pray a Dodger gets hurt or just stash Pederson until you can DFA an OF. Give away one of Andre/Carl now, this is really really stupid

I know everyone thinks keeping Joc down is counterproductive but I see it a little differently. I see him as one of the best insurance policies you can have with microscopic premiums. With him in our hip pocket we're covered in case of injury or trade, and our options remain open at all levels. Keep him playing every day, let him work on pitch recognition and lowering his K rate, and groom him for success. Meanwhile, the Dodgers are playing good baseball and things look good right now. If it ain't broke don't fix it.

We are still in on Lester and I have a feeling Ned might be able to pull something off with Ethier and none of our top 3.

I'd gladly trade ethier and a few spects for a rental in Lester. We did them a favor with crawfords shit contract they can do the same for us with dre in hopes pedroia helps pump some life into dre

That's crazy talk, but then again it isn't.

If you're the Sox, you have to assume you're not going to be able to resign him in the offseason, unless he gives a discount to stay with them. They've already said they won't give him the huge deal some other team will likely offer. So that means you either keep him for two more months, then he's gone, or you deal him for whatever you can get. They have to understand no team is going to part with elite prospects to have his services for two months. So why not do the deal for Ethier (with Dodgers eating most of the salary) and a first round pick like Anderson, Reed, or Lee. Sure, none of those guys have proven anything yet, but getting their potential is better than nothing, right?

Now is the time to reflect back on the one really legitimate Kemp screw up that impacted his career and our season end last year and performance for the first half of this season. That is the play where he didn't hustle home at first and had to rush at the end and hurt his ankle. Prior to that Kemp was on fire and seemed to be coming back to beast mode and getting over his shoulder. Had he not injured his ankle our season finish last year would have been stronger and we would have had him as a force in the NLCS. This year the outfield is more settled from the beginning and his bat would have never had us 9 1/2 back and we would probably be in an even better place right now. Dre's days for what ever reason seem to be of a different nature and one has to wonder if he is feeling warn down again. There was a stretch a few weeks ago where DBB held him out and said he had assorted aches and pains and he may just be needing time to recover for the important home stretch and post season. For now it is time for a number of our players to do their thing and us to prosper.
