The Mets helped us a lot today, but hell yeah. Good outing by Haren, nice offense from Turner and some others

    Let's win tomorrow

Victories are always a good thing, especially against teams we should beat. Tomorrow I just hope for 2 things.....1. Greinke pitches well and we win 2. He comes away with no elbow issues. That would make my Saturday specfuckingtacular!

Well that sucks for him. No one should be going thru arbitration in their 30's

Haren really deserves some pitching credit...he definitely came back tough after his meatball first inning, and had them off balance for the rest of the game. He was crazy at the plate...not hustling, if you are not injured has no excuse, but that squeeze play was so strange in his effeort to bunt....and from a guy who knows how to do it. But coming through with a hit for the RBI was redemption road. he experienced almost all that the game gives and takes last night-and came out on top.
Butera has to start a few games, IMO.

I was wrong about Dee starting against a lefty. I'm happy when that happens.

Didn't realize Dee was that successful against lefties, color me surprised. In my defense he hadn't seen Niese but Darwin had success.

don't know if anybody's posted this, but..

Mets Place Bartolo Colon On Revocable Waivers

By Charlie Wilmoth [August 23, 2014 at 1:29pm CDT]
The Mets have placed starting pitcher Bartolo Colon on revocable waivers, FOX Sports’ Ken Rosenthal tweets. Colon is in the first year of a two-year, $20MM deal that will pay him $11MM in 2015, so any team to claim him would risk being responsible for that salary. The Mets do, of course, retain the right to pull Colon back if any team claims him.

at the very least, could buy Greinke some valuable rest in September and likely beat out all the others for the #4 spot for the post season..
