Still need pitching, but damn, that is a good line up. They can take the AL East if they bring back lester and sign one or two more reliable starters.
Just bullshit pure bullshit an AL team can be more okay with this knowing hanley can be stashed at DH or also sign Pablo and put him there. Meanwhile we have to sign like 3 Nick puntos for the bench to make sure we have versatility
after Ortiz retires of course. o'well, Hanley played himself off the squad. if he had a better glove, among other qualities ( like a clean bill of health), he'd still be a Dodger. adios
B2B you seem glad he's gone, fine. But just think f our offense sucks, about what coulda been. You thought our offense sucked last year (it didn't) and that hanley was garbage (he wasn't) but we're currently in danger of truly having bad offense from the SS position
Yeah. Hanley's frustrating because of his defense, and his injuries, but he makes a difference(a good one) when he's in our lineup. Zaidi, Freeman and co. have their hands full to try and get us someone who can come close to replicating what Hanley brought to us. I don't think Guerrero and the rest can, and now teams may want to haggle us because we're desperate for a SS.
i'm not in the line of thought that you can complain about Ethier's/Crawford's/Kemp's contract, and then in the same breath, ask our front office to bust out a big contract/long term commitment for an injury prone/31yr old Hanley Ramirez who sucks defensively. it's an out and out contradiction fueled by being a fanatic. separate yourself from being a fan of the team for 1 second..if you did that you'd realize that handing Hanley a big ass contract is not ideal. they only underachieved for about 2/3's the season major underachiever last year..that whole " let's compare him to SS's offensively " stuff, save it. it's not like you're comparing him to SS's in the ARod/Nomar/Jeter/Cal era. yes, he out-hit Brandon Crawford..whoopty doo. he's now done as a SS anyway and part of that is because he's garbage defensively. we would've been in danger of that if they kept Hanley, so what's the difference? Boston better hope they can keep Hanley's health together as he ages..otherwise, they won't have to worry about where they're going to play him..his position will be " DL " and not DH if they don't.
