Always loved Minnie, got his baseball cards, and if I'm not mistaken he played in a major league game in 4 different decades.

if it helps send all of Santa's reindeer as well.

Rudolph included..just in case of bad weather, so we make sure Ethier makes it safely.

I love the Adams signing, guy was so good about 2-3 years ago, maybe he bounces back healthy and it's a steal, if not oh well.

Hoping Adams can put together a solid spring and stay healthy. Dude absolutely killed the nlw 2010 -2011. This could end up being a Friedman special. Like him more than most of Andrew's other fixxer upper signings.

The July 2nd prospect the Dodgers have been linked to is 16 year old dominican prospect CF Starling Heredia.

One minor problem, Juan couldn't play 2nd. And if you want to compare him to Dee, Dee was not blocking young Matt Kemp.

Stop being so optimistic, at best that guy looks like Juan Pierre (there are ribs showing).

    • The Dodgers already have cleared out most of the contract of one veteran outfielder (Matt Kemp) and would love to do the same with Andre Ethier. Los Angeles knows it would have to swallow much of the three years at $56 million the lefty swinger is still owed. With Howie Kendrick now at second, Los Angeles might also have to figure out how to deal Cuban Alex Guerrero, who has three years at $14 million left and a contract stipulation that he cannot be sent to the minors against his will. He is a bat in search of a position and might be a worthwhile gamble for an AL team that could use him at DH and work on his defense, though a rebuilding club such as the Braves could just gamble on the bat, too.

Don Mattingly says Jimmy Rollins will be the Dodgers’ leadoff man
by Aaron Gleeman | NBC Hardball Talk — Mar 3, 2015, 12:06 PM EST

    [IMG] (AP)

Dodgers manager Don Mattingly announced that new shortstop Jimmy Rollins will be the team’s leadoff hitter, explaining: “We don’t truly have anyone else who fits in that role.”

Not exactly a ringing endorsement, but whatever.

Rollins fits the old stereotype of a leadoff hitter because he’s a middle infielder with plus speed, but the problem is that he doesn’t actually get on base much.

Last season Rollins had a .323 on-base percentage and that was actually higher than his OBPs in 2012 and 2013. With that said, offense across baseball is down so much that NL leadoff men as a whole barely topped Rollins with a .327 OBP last season and Mattingly is right that the Dodgers lack an obvious leadoff candidate with great on-base skills unless they opt against using Yasiel Puig in the middle of the lineup.

agreed. and outside of that, sandwiching AGon between dangerous righties has to be one of the immediate goals. Puig and Kendrick are better used that way. Rollins has proven enough to earn early designation. if he's gonna lead, let him lead.

    I hate Donnie Dum Dum.

Two days ago he wasn't sure. And non committal. Suddenly he is.

When asked a question you already known the answer to. Just put it out there you fucking idiot.

We have no chance with him in the dugout.

That isn't the point, Juan relied on speed just like Dee, the position they both play does not matter. Matt wasn't the player he became later, if he was then there is no way Juan could compare talent wise to Matt. You weren't here to see the raging debate we had back when Dre was so bad against lefties. Juan SHOULD have playing instead of him against lefties and that was the mangers issue. Either way the point is moot.
