When Albertson's bought out Von's they split into 3 entities which includes Haggens. I work for Southern Wine and Spirits. HUGE surprise when it was Albertson's doing the buying instead of the other way around.

 

Haggens is up here but not wide spread. They're a part of Whole Foods which starting to expand.

 

Interesting but I heard different of course it wasn't from a reliable source, industry gossip mostly.

 

Albertsons had to as part of the agreement to buy Vons to sell to Haggens parent company. Learn something new everyday!

 

I only know of the Whole Foods because another project in the city. And it's going up one block from a QFC which is cool. My Co. is a commercial electrical supplier so we're updated on all the growth here. Its awesome. Cranes are all over Seattle with more coming. It's mad.

So what actually happened was for the FTC to approve Cerberus (parent company of Albertsons) purchasing Safeway (Safeway used to own Vons, Pavillions, and many other branches across the country), they were required to sell off some of their stores so they didn't establish too much of a monopoly and that is where Haggens or whatever the fuck that is called came in.
