Good to see the Astros making big moves. I much prefer to watch NL ball compared to AL ball but something about the Astros that makes them fun to watch. Maybe cause they were in the NL not long ago haha

Hopefully they don't get Kimbrel so we can snag him and I hope the D'backs crazy overpay for Chapman and he doesn't sign an extension. I don't know wtf the Dbags are trying to do tbh :smh:

On a side note, it is nice going into the last hours of a trade deadline not expecting anything and getting my hopes up only to be let down, because that already happened.

Feeling a little of that myself. To use an analogy, our off season started with a flurry of trades that were suppossed to make us the clear favorites in the NL West and in the hunt with the Nationals. Dee goes, Kemp goes, we get Kendrick, Rollins, and Grandal. Nothing huge on the pitching front (Scherzer, Price, Sheilds, etc.).

But we were "better up the middle." Better defensively. We signed Olivera and all was good.

Now we are. 5 game up on the Giants, Rollins has been a problem, Joc and Puig are having issues, and yet we were 1 arm and some BP help away from getting back on track. With the cash and prospects we have, I just thoughg we could make that big splash....like we were sayings the Guggs can do....the splash we did not make in the off-season.

I dunno. If we had a pitching rotation of Kershaw, Greinke, Price, Bolsinger and Anderson, and possibly one more BP arm, I think we would be a hell of a bit more confident about our post season chances than a SP rotation with Latos and Wood (+Anderson or Bolsinger).

Why am I feeling like we were promised Charlize Theron and instead got her least attractive entourage friend (you know, the ugliest one in the bunch, but the one that puts out the most cause she has too). Classic game theory for the nerd bunch.

So you don't "read" my "bullshit" or just read 8 words, and you know my meaning? My point?

    That explains a lot.

I am happy with the way the deadline has panned out. Have pretty much all our prospects in place still as that has been the plan since Kasten arrived and we added much needed depth to the starting rotation and bullpen. Could use one more piece like a Kimbrel, Boxberger or McGee but I don't really expect any more moves even though Friedman hinted at them possibly not being done yet.

I do admit that trading Olivera stings a little but the return was just awesome and props to the GuggenGods cause fuck they are rich to just throw around so much money. I do think Olivera is going to be a solid player but this trade I think works out great for us and pretty good for the braves too even though we clearly won the trade. Best off-season move last year was getting Friedman to run the operations. I hope part of the best moves this upcoming year will be to re-sign Greinke and go get that Price guy with that cash money they like to throw around so much.

We'll be happy at deadlines and with off-season moves but never happy with shit results like we have had all these post-seasons against the Phillies and Cards. Hopefully we finally mother fucking win one and shut up all the haters. I think Kasten/Friedman/Farhan have a lot to prove still by actually building a winner and bring home that win and that trophy in the final game of the year. Dodgers have everything a franchise could ask for except the one thing they covet the most. I hope we finally get to the post-season and live up to the expectations we all have as fans and finally get to enjoy a championship in this century.

I hope we win it all this post-season but if we lose.. again.. then I think, and I hope the FO is thinking the same way.. Donnie has to go.

Yeh, good post , mate. But Donnie's still there, like a stubborn skin rash. And as we all have made our metaphors and analogies about, humorous and otherwise, he just doesn't drive the car well enough to cross the finish line...

I'd love to grab just one more arm for the pen. Doesn't have to be Kimbrel, but Benoit or Uehara would be cool.

:spitcoffee: I bet you listen to Big Sean too, lil Justin Sellers Jr. Lmao But at least you kept your rant under a mile, so thanks. However, you talk about " delusional ". What a coincidence...

Son, the reason I switched handles is so random that I don't even know if I can 1-up that one next time. I'll try, though. How about this? I'll switch it again the next time you choke on one of Kobe Bryant's pubic hairs ( any day now)...shake on it?

Jays need Corrasco the most, so they're fueled the most to go and get him. But gotdamn, what if we get Corrasco?
