Some clocked Cespedes at 3.9 seconds from home plate to first base in beating out a grounder to Jimmy Rollins in Game 3 of the NLDS, Heyman writes, and that burst of elite speed just serves as a demonstration of the rare blend of power and quickness he brings to the table. One anonymous GM from a club not expected to pursue Cespedes told Heyman he expects the outfielder to land a contract in the vicinity of $150MM over a six-year term. TheMets have never spent at that level, but Heyman notes that despite having a stable outfield situation, the team very much wants to retain him. Yeah, he can boogie. 6yrs/150MM is probably what Chris Davis is looking at as well. Baltimore has no shot.

That's what pisses me off, they are talking about going all in on the Int'l market and they stopped following this kid cause he annoyed them?. The team lacks in OF depth in the minors, would have been a nice plus.
I think we're coming along OF wise. As far as the young guys that are ready to play Schebler really has earned a shot to platoon..there's a young Kike, Peraza's got some OF in him and they just signed Toles. Younger kids in the Eddy Julio age bracket in Bellinger ( saw time in CF and could be a corner guy in the future as well as 1B of course), Verdugo, Paroubeck has potential, and of course Hansen. Certainly would've liked to have added Eddy Julio to that last group tho. 16yr old Heredia has a long wait obviously.
