    Painfully.
The doc said it was a tough one. Had to get at it from different spots so they had to cut me a lot more than usual. Because I lived with it for over a decade the hernia had given birth to other hernias around it.
I had never gone under anesthesia so that was a trip. I was so in need of sleep that now I understand Michael jacksons obsession with getting knocked out.
I can hardly move though. Before the surgery we moved my mattress to the sofa bed in the living room and I'm propped up on a bunch of pillows. Each little movement is agonizing and u need help of two women to position me a bit.
For the first time in my life I have agreed to take the happy pills.
Cuz this is the worst pain in the balls u can think of. Im not getting uo to pee or crap. Not like i have the strength to push anything out yet... So hello percocet.
    Thanks blue!
Have u had a hernia operation before?

Yikes. That sounds rough. I had one a couple of years ago but I was back up within three days. Mine was large but apparently nothing like yours. I had one incision. Left me a nice battle scar about five inches long.

    Percocet is nice to have.

    Good luck

Could you get up to use the bathroom during those 3 days?

    Thanks for the encouraging words.

Indeed...1988. Was watching some guy named Gibson hit a HR while back home recovering from the hospital the day before. When it happened, I automatically tried to get up and do a dance, but fell painfully back on the sofa.
It was exquisite pain however, one of the best moments ever in many years as a Dodger fan.
The hernia was a bit complicated, too...a scary possibilty that I had to sign off on before I went under, but nothing as crazy as yours.
Good luck...time will pass very quickly.

    Nice story!
What was the complication you had to sign off on?
I have had a tachycardia issue since I was a kid but never did anything about it but now with the surgery looming I agreed to use propanolol the past two months and this past week I had to wear a heart monitor and had an EKG and a ECG.
I started with a resting rate of 140 but after a month on the pill it dropped to 95. After two months I'm down to 75 BPM.

Also the paperwork all had me to be cut on my right side when the hernia is on the left. So they had to call the surgeon in earlier to redo all the paperwork so they wouldn't cut me on the wrong side.

I get to remember the day of my surgery as the day the dodgers hired the first Japanese manager in the mlb.

I could. It wasn't easy but I managed. It wasn't as much the pain it was the lack of mobility.

So my laptop wasn't turning on at all. I just randomly decided to turn it on and it turned on.

Is it possible it was just overheated?

Also had a lump on my right testicle...so they said when they opened me up to repair the hernia, they would bring the testicle up, take a biopsy, get immediate results, and if cancer, remove the testicle. I said OK.
The first thing I did when I woke up in recovery, was check the jewels...it turned out to be scar tissue from taking a shot in the balls from a little kid on a dance floor who was spinning around while I was dancing with my wife!

I've had a droopy painful testicle on the side with the hernia for years. I figured its part of the hernia. Hopefully it improves now.
I can't imagine how you were feeling not knowing if you still had your nut.

Well, actually that specific feeling lasted as long as waking up and being conscious, and reaching down and checking it out...about 10 seconds, tops !
The sack, in tact, never felt so good....

I failed to elaborate. It stop working like a month ago, I took it to apple, the price they wanted for it was not worth it so I stuck it in my desk for a momth. Then I randomly decided to see if it turned on last night and it did.

i had the same problem with an old macbook, and [mousey is right] it was a heating issue
it would shutdown in the middle of doing something and wouldn't start back up for a couple hours
did some detective work [google] and someone suggested the overheating issue
i bought the targus fan below at office depot for around $40 and it resolved the problem completely...

of course i didn't realize that was the problem until after i bought a new one
    but 2 macbooks > none

Mine only shut off when the battery died. They definitely do get hot, but I just went to use it one time and it would not turn on, completely unresponsive. I tried every day until I took it in to the apple team full of crooks trying to rip me off (about a week) then after they said they wanted to charge me 750 bucks to replace the logistics board, I stuck it in my desk for a month. Then just decided to turn it on last night and it came on.
