One to two more starts max for Urias. He is already up to 74 innings this season, and I keep hearing that they want to cap him at 100. Likely 1 start and then the bullpen

Is it up to 120 now? Still probably two starts max though and then to the bullpen

Well I don't think we've heard a hard number but it's gotta be more than 100

    I've heard 120-140
He basically pitched 90 in 2014 and of course he didn't get to 120 in 2015 because of the eye surgery, but he was still strengthening his arm throughout.
All in all, he could be ready for 170-180 innings next year and arm strength probably won't be the determining factor, more so the refining of his command.
Can't even imagine how filthy he's gonna be in 2 years.

We could've done a lot worse than Bud Norris on such short notice. He's pretty good for what he is. Far superior to Bolsinger, Stripling, Tepech, or any of those types.

At one point he was the Astros ace once they started getting good. He's solid.

    Absolutely.
Until he falters, and then we'll hate him, and then crucify him on the Tree of Woe.
But he is good..experienced, knows the league, and most important, not on the DL..a huge plus when you are on the LAD.
More valuable than having a pet dragon.
    Well, not really.
And the bonus, imo, is that I think he could have gone another inning for 7, which is another Kershaw-like rarity on the Dodgers. I don't exactly know what Dave's thinking was there, especially with the bp workload of late, but it worked OK, so thank you, Kromm.
    He looks good...nice fit.

How or why would the Braves give him up so cheaply?
Or maybe they know something about the dudes we traded them that we dont?
Or maybe Bud is on the juice and they had suspicion.

I mean at the end of the day he's still Bud Norris. That article I shared said that he's had much more success since he developed a cutter, so hopefully he can hold down the spot in the rotation with a few good starts until we can get healthy. I wouldn't expect Friday night to be the norm for him though. Sounds like expectations are a little high for him around these parts.

Mid rotation starter, will give you a ton of innings. Pretty much what everyone expects I think.

Shit... it's most certainly an improvement on whats been trotted out there recently.

Never thought of those angles, but Idk if they gave him up that cheaply. Those two guys they got weren't chopped liver, from what I've tead about them. They defenitely have talent and potential...looking at the Braves, and what they are attempting to do atbthis time, they are a nice grab for them.
And let's face it, although with a terrific debut, Norris' numbers were not off the charts coming in.

Idk if it's "expectations", or just happiness in the actual results, compared to what some of the other band aids have come up with.

The Braves are all about rebuilding, and their farm is pretty good and getting better. Bud was cheap to start with ($2.5M?) so it made sense to let him go and pick up more pieces. After all, Bud Norris isn't the guy you want to rebuild with.
