Not going to debate he has the country's best interest in mind, ...just how he intends to accomplish that AND what is his view of the 'the country's best interests?"

Doughty8 dude, keep it chill, you make several excellent points and you should defend them or at least not leave while others are doing so. It truly is a scary time we live in and, aside from Rube withdrawing completely from the process, no one here wants to defend either candidate. They both suck. They both are open liars. Without a hint of remorse. Worse they know that we voters know it and couldn't care less since they also know there's precious little that we can do about it. Rube's point.

But don't go away because you were right in other ways too. Trump truly is a nutball. I don't know about everyone posting from the 'Trump ain't so bad' camp but I've spent hours groaning about this with Diablo. Trump is a damned hard choice to defend but in one area. He is NOT a beltway lifer. That he rests his laurels upon being a businessman and his miserable track record with all of the bankruptcies is insane. Still business is the world where he lives, not politics. This will remain one of his more endearing traits to many Americans totally fed up with DC corruption. One of the devil's keener insights is..
    but even he admits
I think claiming to be a "rich businessman" is lying horseshit when truth and evidence indicate that he's gone tits up three times and screwed every investor he's ever had.

OTOH, he has a positive flair for the public dramatic and he doesn't mind showing the world his (shallow thinking) balls. Hillary is known to be conniving and duplicitous even with her friends and it's no longer even doubted that she keeps a 'get even' list of those she imagines have slighted her. Petty and vindictive are not POTUS attributes... for either of them and yet here we are.
Even she weren't such an arrogant entitled douche liar it would be easier to offer a rational defense of her. Alas today we have one of her strongest defenses being the one you proffered, the other guy is bat shit crazy so vote for me. Except for the fact that America KNOWS Trump is crazy and it sort of likes that 3/4 nutcase persona. Oh and he figured it out too, much to the dismay of the old rich white bible thumpers previously holding the Republican party hostage. Trump removed their vote against rather tall odds simply due to his media prowess.

Trump could also turn out to be an even bigger media whore than Obomber which is a scary thought all it's own.
    FerrariF2004 expressed my thoughts with
but we'll NEVER have a viable three party system unless more of us vote for the third party.

I've been a business owning Republican for more than 30 years through thick and thin but I'm disgusted that this 'business' party was hijacked first by the falsely pious religious right and then by the tea baggers. I changed registration to Democrat simply to vote for The Bern. It almost mattered but Hillary and the corrupt DNC paid for CA in advance, idiot Moonbeam preemptively endorsed her well in advance and compelled all state unions to get on board as well. Even with that bought and paid for support she still she almost lost the state. Then the crooked DNC tells Bernie to sober up and get on board or else #Trump. Fuck Trump. Fuck the DNC for being corrupt. Fuck Hillary. And Fuck Bernie for not having a single cajones left to do anything about it.

    No easy answers.

Even third party Gary Johnson can't get over his innate inability to present a leadership stance on relevant issues. Fuck him too. Unfortunately American's got to see that leadership stance is one area where Trump postures well. Yep it's all posture we do not deny, but he sells it well enough that it might matter (poorly) in (rashly considered) foreign policy decisions.

I really do not want a President Trump, but a President Hillary make my stomach turn too. Something needs to change in DC.

i have been successful w a pellet gun, my dogs and traps in killing rats and field mice
that is until the traps were all manufactured in china and were shit
and now the EPA has banned dcon pellets
when all else failed that was a sure kill for a smarter than average rat
we all know even a brilliant fly can drive us mad, do those insects have brains and wile?
dcon was the equalizer in extreme situations and now its gone

I am a very laid back and mellow person some say to fault so when I went on that rant it was uncharacteristic of my personality. I'm not apologizing for the post just dispelling any thought that I am a lunatic. I don't get into politics on a normal basis and I usually let "people" like Cheeto face get to me. It usually just slides off me like water off a ducks back but this cycle to me could be the most important of this century. This shit is no joke man. I'm just hoping for the good outcome of the election for my point of view not just for President but for all seats. In the words of Forrest Gump.

    Trump is a democrat.

Guy has run a brilliant campaign. Let's build a wall! Make murica great again! It won't be that bad with him in office because he's pandering to a dated base that is on its last leg. He fired them up with something fresh and new, and different from the typical suits they have thrown out there in the last two elections. I mean this base is so out of it, that no political experience doesn't even matter anymore. Remember that argument being used against Obama in 08? Now it's irrelevant of courseo_O

Unfortunately Hill dog will win fairly easily and they will be totally in shambles as the suit base will be waving their collective fingers telling all the wall wanting inbreds " I told ya so"

But hey at least trump is a true christ lover, so he'll be fine no matter what the outcome :woot:

Both of you make excellent points.

I was quite surprised (or not) to read today in an article about NY mayor Michael Bloomberg that that vast majority of Big $$ has swung over to the Democratic side simply because Trump is a loose cannon. Smart money says...

Which only reinforces my statement that they are both liars and neither side of the aisle intends to change a damned thing.

all of which likely gives Trump another boost for being an outsider...

but he'll still lose... Hillary simply has too much coin to spend.

Also read yesterday a series of tweets from Mark Cuban squaring off with some WSJ reporter and claiming that Trump is the bigger thief and liar because he has yet to release a single tax return. Cuban went on to state that Billary have paid over $43M in taxes in the last ten years while Trump reveals nothing.

Cuban then went on to rant that Trump is not releasing anything because he absolutely does not want us to know that he's nowhere near as rich as he'd like us to think.

Cuban then went on to taunt the WSJ guy saying that not only has Billary paid more taxes she's probably also made more money than Trump in the past decade.

To which the WSJ guy swallowed his tongue when he should of asked "exactly how'd she do that as a public employee??" (ssshh, don't notice the billions of funds raised illegally while Secretary of State)

But Cuban won the battle of twitter sound bites that day much as Trump has won the media each time with Hillary.

She is so insincere that she cannot mask it so she loses every time her lying trap opens.

He's a racist misogynist but his hatred is spoken with conviction... and American's LOVE those with conviction.

Hell we love those with convictions too... just wish someone would successfully prosecute either of them already.

When hispanics ask me about trump the main issue is the fear of the wall.
I tell them he will never build that wall.
It's just political spin to get the rednecks to vote for him.
The again he is bizarro gipper.

    Hillary misfires in speech
Associated Press — 8 hours ago

WASHINGTON (AP) – In her speech accepting the Democratic nomination, Hillary Clinton wrongly implied Donald Trump has proposed banning Islam in America and sketched out a plan for defeating Islamic State militants that merely mirrors what the U.S. is already trying to do.

Clinton spoke Thursday night to the largest TV audience she is likely to have until the presidential debates, meaning many Americans were probably hearing of her agenda for the first time. Although she brings plenty of policy detail when stacked against the broad-brush ideas of her Republican rival, in some cases there’s less than meets the eye to what she says she will do.

A college education, for example, might not end up as debt-free for everyone as she suggested.

For his part, Trump spun a story about the Iran nuclear deal that was more fiction than fact at an Iowa rally that preceded Clinton’s convention speech.

A look at some of the claims from the political maelstrom:

CLINTON: “I’ve laid out my strategy for defeating ISIS. We will strike their sanctuaries from the air, and support local forces taking them out on the ground. We will surge our intelligence so that we detect and prevent attacks before they happen. We will disrupt their efforts online to reach and radicalize young people in our country. It won’t be easy or quick, but make no mistake - we will prevail.”

THE FACTS: Clinton might as well have said she laid out President Barack Obama’s strategy for defeating Islamic State militants. Everything she mentioned, the Obama administration already is trying to do.

CLINTON: “Bernie Sanders and I will work together to make college tuition-free for the middle class and debt-free for all.”

THE FACTS: Tuition-free for students who go to an in-state public college or university. Debt-free is a harder lift.

Clinton has adopted parts of Sanders’ plans to defray some of the costs of higher education. Under her proposal, the government would pay for tuition at in-state colleges and universities for students from families earning less than $125,000 a year. That would leave students still bearing the cost of room and board, which makes up more than half of the average $18,943 sticker price at a four-year public university, according to the College Board.

Experts worry about other impacts: Will colleges raise tuition once the government starts paying, increasing the cost to taxpayers? Will more students flock to public colleges because of the subsidy, also raising costs?

Trump is an idiot for many reasons. But I have an observation... I married into a family of illegal immigrants and went to school with many. All I see on facebook is Trump comments with spanish curse words. The only reason they hate Trump is because of the wall...

Other than the one comment several months ago about "drug dealers and rapists" what has he really said about immigration that is wrong? Or racist? He's really just telling the truth. Illegal immigration is a problem.

I'm not on board with rednecks who chant "build the wall!" Because that's just hatred. And I don't support deportation of the law abiding (other than entering illegally) immigrants who are already here. Let them stay.

But what's wrong with cracking down? People should have to come over legally. There has to be law and order.

I'm married to an illegal immigrant but we get it. And we are down to pay any fine or legal fees to earn her residency because it's a small price for the benefits of being an American.

If people want to come over here and be Americans, we should allow them to come. What I take issue with is when people come here illegally from countries that failed them, yet want to recreate that very country here. Look what's happening to Los Angeles and the surrounding areas. It's becoming an extension of Mexico. It's a shit hole. I mean no harm with this comment.

People come here illegally, spit out babies like it's going out of style, live off welfare, and hoard money they make under the table.

There's no assimilation anymore. No national pride. It's become racist to be a proud American. I watch my in laws teach their children that they aren't American, they are Mexican. Even though they were born in America and benefit from America every damn day. It's wrong.

So yeah...Trump is a sociopathic imbecile. But it's curious to me that one community can only focus on one issue and find no middle ground. Come over legally and come to be an American. Always be proud of your harritage but your allegiance needs to change.

the left will forever use racism as its keyword for all who disagree
it ends the argument since after all you are the racist for believing differently
and it gives them the moral high ground
and the truth is by invalidating any dissenting opinion its truly censorship and racism

    so true
they don't have valid responses/arguments so it's much easier to drop the racist card
not saying trump is an ideal choice in any way/shape/form
    far from it
    but watch when hillary speaks
try to find anything of substance she says
it's mostly smoke and mirrors -- usually playing the "isn't this great for woman?" catchphrase
and her disingenuous threats of going after wall street...
the same wall street that's funded her for years
