    Steve Sax Syndrome.

Lester might deserve his own category though... Jon Lester Disorder?

I'm not holding out tremendous hope, but there is some for Ryu who had a good first outing of the Spring the other day. I saw he was sitting 84-86 in his bullpen a couple of days prior, but I thought I saw a report that had him up to 88 for the first live BP. Did anyone else see that or was I mistaken? I was in SF for the weekend and was only able to glance at the news for a couple of minutes each day. Anywho, I'm not going to be freaking out if he is throwing 84-86 on Feb 17th, but if it is March 17th and that is where he is sitting, then yeah, he's done. He will be interesting to follow as he's still fairly young and the word was that he was pitching hurt for a while. The shoulder surgery will always be worrying, but the elbow surgery was fairly minor. With his stuff and being left handed, if Ryu can work 88-92, he should still be a valuable pitcher in a rotation. Whether that be for us, or for someone that sees him potentially doing well this spring and the club elects to move him. There is serious upside for the 4 pitchers coming off of a injury plagued season(s), just gotta see if they can find it again.

84-86mph at this point is neither alarming not encouraging
    i didn't see the 88mph report
but i did see roberts saying ryu was still holding back
my expectations for ryu are zero so only good news will surprise me

They definitely made the right call not giving him that retarded deal, and I love Hill as a player and personally. I was referring more to the latter in Zack's regard.

And to add my 2 cents to the Puig discussion, everything I read about him and every vibe I get from him is that he's an insufferable cunt. I have no hope for him, and I'm kind of looking forward to the last time he dons the blue.

Gonzalez pain free, expects to play in WBC
by Daniel Starkand | Dodger Blue — 21 minutes ago
    [IMG]
Los Angeles Dodgers first baseman Adrian Gonzalez reported for Spring Training last week not quite healthy, as he was suffering from inflammation in his right elbow, which Gonzalez described as tennis elbow.

The minor injury had already sidelined Gonzalez for more than one week, called for two weeks of inactivity and was thought to possibly keep him from playing for Team Mexico in the World Baseball Classic. Gonzalez and Dodgers manager Dave Roberts otherwise expressed minimal concern over the matter.

The Dodgers held their first full-squad workout Tuesday morning at Camelback Ranch, and though Gonzalez did not participate, his elbow is in better standing, according to Alanna Rizzo of SportsNet LA:

    Alanna Rizzo ✔@alannarizzo
.@Adrian_ElTitan's right elbow is pain free. He's still not expected to
swing a bat for at least another week.
    8:55 AM - 21 Feb 2017

Gonzalez remains hopeful of playing for Mexico in the WBC, however that won’t be determined until next month when he is examined by Dr. Neal ElAttrache, per Andy McCullough of the L.A. Times:

    Andy McCullough ✔@McCulloughTimes
Adrian Gonzalez (elbow inflammation) won't know if he can play in the
WBC until #DrNealElAttrache clears him in the first week of March.
    11:54 AM - 21 Feb 2017

Gonzalez has been extremely durable throughout his MLB career, playing in at least 156 games each year since 2006, which was his first full season in the Majors.

The 34-year-old has suffered from a bulging disc in his neck and nerve issues that affected the lower half of his body, particularly last season. He still managed to play 156 games, and while his production dipped a bit, Gonzalez was largely a steady force in the middle of the Dodgers lineup.

Although Gonzalez prides himself on answering the bell every day, Roberts recently said that he plans to scale back the veteran first baseman’s workload in 2017, so that he can be healthy once the postseason begins.

Despite positive early bullpens, the Dodgers will take it slow with starter Hyun-Jin Ryu. The Cactus League schedule starts Saturday, and as of now, Ryu is not scheduled to pitch in a game. “It is kind of contingent on his progress,” manager Dave Roberts said.

    • Dodgers general manager Farhan Zaidi said one designated spot will go to an extra infielder with shortstop experience to back up Corey Seager. Candidates who are currently in camp that can fill that role are Charlie Culberson, Kiké Hernandez and Chris Taylor.

LOL... "progress". 2 years ago it was progress, but if it takes you 3 years to recover from an injury are you still recovering? Or is that just the new normal?

I like Ryu, but can we just call it already?

he has essentially a month to show he's got something left
but with roster spots being so scarce, he better be impressive
    i'm thinking he's probably done

He spent time on the DL even during his "healthy" years. Not holding my breath for a comeback.
