The season wouldn't be complete without a story about a Sox player acting like an ass.

Agree, he should take care of this in private like an adult. And in this case he should really just stay in his lane and let the media guys do their job. Does he really expect Eckersley to never say something bad about a player?

The Texas Rangers are ready to move ace pitcher Yu Darvish. All it will take is someone to meet their asking price.

Sources told ESPN.com that Rangers general manager Jon Daniels began calling potential suitors Monday and telling them the team is open to trading Darvish for the "right deal." If no team offers a return package to the Rangers' liking, Daniels has informed clubs that Texas will hold on to Darvish and continue to make a push in the American League wild-card race.

Yeah, Stanton and Judge with their brute strength shots gets many people , uh..impressed and excited to extremes...and rightly so, I guess.
Who doesn't watch in awe at these modern day athletic Herculean feats? Who doesn't light up at these balls pummelled to such great distances away?
But which is more impressive: giant men born gifted with freakish size and power or what Jose Altuve has made himself ?
I go with Jose every time...far more of a bb/life accomplishment, imo.
    Way more.

And 6 of 8, if they pay the 2 1/3 remaining years down to like $50M (owed roughly $65M), I could go for it, their is also the AL to NL factor.

I was pretty anti Verlander, but the guy pitches a ton of innings which we could use right now. And there's always that upside... He was good as recently as last year. He's walking a lot of guys this year and I'm not completely sold. But if the prospect cost is low anf they take Kazmir back it could be worth doing.

Anyone notice that Stanton now has 32 HR's and he didn't hit any against us that last series, wow.

    same here
but my reasoning was based more what was owed to him combined with him getting older and possibly/likely regressing
tbt, i'm not even bothered by the money -- in fact, i'd rather we pay more than give up prospects

Yeah.... Considering what they charge for shit out there, the FIFTY FUCKING DOLLARS it costs to park, TWC (Spectrum) covering their payroll and the almost 100MM coming off their books over the next couple years... I say FUCK THEM if they don't pay for players!

My cable bill went up 80 fucking bucks a month after they merged and we all know why!

Altuve would have gone, ummm, say...6 for 12 in the series.
Maybe a little worse, maybe a little better...
