Ok guys, I've had a few and have been thinking this over... let's look at a 7 game series set up if everyone is healthy and performing.
    GM 1 Kersh
    GM 2 Darvish
    GM 3 Wood
    GM 4 Hill
    GM 5 Kersh
    GM 6 Darvish
GM 7 is where things could get interesting. You could theoretically start Wood and tell him to leave it all out on the field. We only need him for 3 innings and anything beyond that is gravy. Next you have throw days for Hill and Kershaw. Hill could probably go 45 and Kershaw 30ish... that's likely getting you through the 7th. The Dodgers could then play matchups in the 8th and Jansen for the 9th. The realization of what this trade does for must win games is something I feel is somewhat overlooked. Only Darvish has not been used in relief and the Dodgers gluttony of starters who have done well in that role (even in limited doses) could be a huge difference maker in the postseason and also could settle the fears of the pen.

Switch Hill with Wood and have Hill be your number 5 due to age, blisters, and tendency to only go 5 innings.
That has to be the best rotation in baseball.
All the other veteran pitchers can be trade bait. Whomever is left can join the relief corps or injured list while their contract runs out.
Then let Buehler/Urias fight it out to knock Hill into retirement or wally pip Wood next couple of years.
Start working Yadier into an closer/elite set up man.

But for now run with these guys in the playoffs.

    2B: Taylor
    SS: Seager
    3B: Turner
    1B: Bellinger
    RF: Puig/Verdugo
    C : Grandal/Barnes
    CF: Joc/Verdugo
    LF: Verdugo/Barnes

Bench: Barnes, Verdugo as the main platooners who even platoon for each other. Adrian, Utley the main right handed veteran pinch hitters. Kike the left handed specialist.
And Farmer and Forsythe if they drop relievers and starters that arent going to get a whiff in that series they can add more pinch hitters like these two. Farmer can be the emergency catcher/last guy at the end of the bench to come in and get a walk off rbi. Forsythe can be come in to pinch hit against lefties when we crucially need a walk or an eyeball strike out i guess.

And a tight rotation of Kershaw, Darvish, Wood, Hill.
Then have Kenley close it out with Baez/Morrow as the main set up men from the right and Watson as the lefty specialist joined by Paredes who is holding down Liberatores spot as the other lefty.
From there you have Ravin and Stewart as the most trustworthy relievers left.
Ryu could be used maybe as a reliever. MehCarthy too.
Maeda should probably not make the playoff rosters.
Buerhler maybe can get some action in the playoffs if he dominates during the callup.

I'm thinking Ryu may be big for us in the pen. Hard to count on but he's been pretty damn good. Airing it out for an inning or two could be something.

So if Maeda, Ryu, and Darvish will help us recruit Otani, does that mean Seager, Bellinger and Turner will help us get Harper? Because of the same skin color thing?

Andrew Friedman said the Darvish deal didn’t get done until 7 minutes prior to the deadline #Dodgers

The way the rotation is handled going forward is going to be really interesting. I also want to see Ryu and Maeda out of the pen for 1-2 inning stints. The pen has the potential to be dominant if health could finally get on our side for a stretch.

Multiple sources described the atmosphere on the team plane as "lit" after the Darvish news broke.

Good time to be a Dodgers fan. Never a bad time though tbh, even in the bad times.

If Kershaw comes back for the postseason, this may be the best four-man rotation we’ve seen a postseason team run out there since the mid-1990s Braves.

    Keith Law on the trades

    *****
The Dodgers managed to acquire a new No. 2 starter without giving up any of their top five prospects, adding rental player Yu Darvish to help them now and in October. The Rangers, meanwhile, did what they could to get more than the second-round draft pick they would have received had Darvish left as a free agent.

The righter-hander is still an above-average starter, even if he hasn't pitched like an ace this year, in his second season back after he missed 2015 due to Tommy John surgery. He has been throwing his cutter more often, but he still uses his above-average fastball and plus slider heavily, with a sort of kitchen-sink approach that works when his command is there -- or, if you believe the stories from his latest start, when he isn't tipping his pitches.

Given that the quality of his stuff seems unchanged, I'm inclined to think that Darvish's start Wednesday was an aberration, and he'll help the Dodgers by bumping Brock Stewart to a long relief role for now and providing a No. 2 behind Clayton Kershaw in the postseason.

164 pitches in a game one month before the draft but hasn't shown any ill effects yet. He has an average fastball/curveball combination with some physical projection and is having a solid pro debut season in low-A with a 28 percent strikeout rate but a few too many walks.

The Dodgers also made two smaller but significant deals -- one for now and one for the long term -- for Tony Watson from Pittsburgh and Tony Cingrani from Cincinnati.

Watston was an effective setup man in 2014-15 but has been less effective the past year and a half, missing fewer bats and giving up more homers. Right-handed batters have torched him this year, hitting .303/.360/.525 and accounting for all seven homers he has surrendered this year, as he has gotten killed on his changeup, but he has shown enough to suggest that he can be a good left-on-left reliever. The Pirates got two far-off prospects in return: 6-foot-6 infielder Oneil Cruz, a raw third baseman with big power projection, and hard-throwing right-handed reliever Angel German, who's still in low-A.

Cingrani was miscast as a starter with his long arm action and emphasis on just one pitch. He showed flashes of value in relief the past few years but likely needed a change of scenery. He reminds me of the type of acquisition Dodgers president of baseball operations Andrew Friedman would often make when he was in Tampa Bay: acquiring former top prospects or high picks and converting them to the bullpen or giving them new roles. The Reds get Scott Van Slyke in return -- a fourth outfielder who seems superfluous given their other outfield assets -- and Curacao-born catcher Hendrik Clementina, a bat-first player who is a long shot to stay at the position.

Now we just need Kershaw back healthy, and all will be right in the world.

Fuck the Cubs and their shitty Quintana trade.
