Was just about to say how I couldn't believe that this is the same team that smacked the Warriors around on Xmas without LeBron, but it's not. This latest Rondo injury really did a number on them. Major lack of leadership out there. Chandler is doing as much as you can expect from the center spot and at his age. Luke is trash. That's basically what I've gathered here from these games where they're the clear favorites and they come out lackluster in the opening quarter with no fucks given. No sense of urgency, taking advantage of a coach that allows them to. And the staff that they've assembled beneath Luke, they're trash too. Well, it's Luke's staff, or Jeanie's. Not theirs. This keeps up and Magic and Pelinka will get their guys in soon enough
Bulls come into Staples next and I imagine a much improved " Young Hollywood " Zach Lavine wants a piece of their ass too Lakers need to check in on Lavine before they jump for Beal, IMO
I’m really surprised he’s been as bad as he has. I know it’s Kerr’s system and the greatest team maybe ever but he held it together incredibly well during that Warriors run, I thought some of Kerr would rub off on him.
The Warriors are just in a different class than the Lakers with or without Lebron. That did make that Luke run a few years ago easier to understand....but also hid important deficiencies. Luke is clearly not helping the situation. The young guys just seem to have tuned him out. They just don't seem like theyare trust his decisions especially in late game situations, and the team takes bad shots, make bad fouls, and can't hit free throws. Not a winning situation. But I do have to say, I'm really disappointed in Ingram's seeming lack of improvement....I'm not so clear what he does well or what kind of game he's trying to develop. At least Ball plays defense and can pass (Ball really really has to develop a shot though)
If everything was the same with Lonzo but he was shooting 70% from the line I’d be relatively confident that he’d be a solid player, just very rare that a guy is that bad from the line and becomes a consistently above average shooter at any point. And if he can’t shoot his fit with LeBron will never work.
Welp, now LAL is the 9th seed. Pressure has to be rising after each and every loss and most of these guys obviously can't handle pressure, otherwise they wouldn't be shrinking at the free throw line. And if they're looking at the schedule, like I am, then they fully understand how much they've fucked up by just not competing hard at the outset of these extra-winnable matchups. Next up after CHI tonight.. @OKC @HOU VS Golden State 3 strikes, you're out. 3 ass whoopins on deck that are going to immediately make them regret their lack of effort against the Knicks, Cavs, and Timberwolves. Lose tonight and see what happens, and there's the pressure. Lavine is probably going for 50, coming in with nothing to lose
And what is Kerr? He didn't raise that GSW group or teach them how to compete consistently and be pros
