    It's all about politics.
    Same as daca.
Part of Trump's strategy to make the dems look foolish and out of touch.
He never cares about any of his big deals. They are all smokescreens and he always ends up negotiating down to a position that is his actual goal.
While all that is happening and the media is distracted by the big juicy trumpian story the president is cutting deals and signing orders.
And when it's time to negotiate down from his original demands the Dems end up having to give up some other position or vote or legislation before Trump agrees to not do this horrible thing the Dems and the media have worked the american people into believing that trump was about to do.

Let's see how much more he will get now that the wall is back to more of the Bush-Obama iron fencing.
He's already getting the distraction from the media he wanted when they were going after his kids all the time and on the Russia and Mueller thing.
All that is backstory now that the big story is the evil wall.

    Yes.
In fact I'd read somewhere that the outgoing group had voted themselves $10k raises before flying home first class.
    Again

I fly in and out of Washington DC a lot...like every week.
From time to time I sit next to these scumbags.
Congresspeople are usually in premium economy.
Senators are almost always in first class.
They usually have a staffer with them too, so it's not just them.

Yep, I love me some Ron Paul. He's really the one that got me into the liberty movement way back in the day...

Soooo Ron Paul avoiding a Q and replying by calling the guy out as "overweight" is what sold you???
So did anyone listen to Ron Paul state we should "make America less attractive" and think "hell yeah make us a 3rd world shithole too" that way they won't want to come at all?? I get that he, like other lying politicians, has no interest in answering anyone's Q's except for how to reframe them to work his own agenda. Also being rather aware that DSP has become a nearly uniform Trump/Faux News echo chamber perhaps one might ask if anyone on the Right can look up the word hypocrite. Start with lying Twit-in-Chief Trump, himself avoiding immigration and draft laws with his own brood of illegals.

I've stated previously that the vast majority of DSP readers ancestors came into America, in exchange for providing their names, were given a Tax ID# (that day) and were told to abide by the law, speak the language, fit in, and make America the kind of great place that they held it to be in their dream?

Does Ron Paul suggest that? Nah, he's less Libertarian than he is GOP and a full hypocrite who refuses to acknowledge how his OWN family entered the USA. Tea Party... pre Tea Party? Maybe, though those fools have yet to ever think through a single policy demand much like myopic Libertarians who opine about "taxes are theft" while driving on public roads, riding on public subways, not enjoying the benefits of Fire or Police or Emergency services etc.

Does the GOP speak out both sides of their mouth about open borders? Yep. (Trump benefits from exact rules he wants voided)
Does the DNC speak out both sides of their mouth about open borders? Yep. (Obama's team booted more illegals than Trump.. to date)
Does Ron Paul join the fray speaking out both sides of his own mouth? Yep. (So Ron Paul lies too...) and no one notices. Worse people praise any different set of lies.

and then today's news about rotten Rand apples not falling far from the hypocrite Ron Paul tree...

Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul, one of the fiercest political critics of socialized medicine, will travel to Canada later this month to get hernia surgery.

Paul, an ophthalmologist, said the operation is related to an injury sustained in 2017, when his neighbor, Rene Boucher, attacked him while he was mowing his lawn. The incident left Kentucky's junior senator with six broken ribs and a bruised lung.

He is scheduled to have the outpatient operation at the Shouldice Hernia Hospital in Thornhill, Ontario during the week of Jan. 21, according to documents from Paul's civil lawsuit against Boucher filed in Warren Circuit Court.

The procedure is estimated to cost anywhere from $5,000 to $8,000, according to court documents. MDsave.com lists a hernia repair costing between $4,000 and $8,000.

Shouldice Hernia Hospital markets itself as "the global leader in non-mesh hernia repair," according to the clinic's website.

While Shouldice Hernia Hospital is privately owned — like many Canadian hospitals — it receives a majority of its funding from the Ontario government and accepts the Ontario’s Hospital Insurance Plan.

The hospital's website outlines payments it accepts, including cash, check or credit card for those patients, like Paul, who are not covered by Ontario's insurance plan or a provincial health insurance plan.

Kelsey Cooper, a spokeswoman for Paul, said the hospital is privately owned and people come from around the globe for their services.

“This is more fake news on a story that has been terribly reported from day one — this is a private, world renowned hospital separate from any system and people come from around the world to pay cash for their services,” Cooper said in an email to the Courier Journal.

Paul, a Republican, often argues for private market solutions to American's health care woes.

In Canada, medical care is publicly funded and universally provided through the country's Provincial Ministry of Health, and everyone receives the same level of care.

Paul has called universal health care and nationalized options "slavery."

“With regard to the idea whether or not you have a right to health care ... It means you believe in slavery," Paul said in 2011. "You are going to enslave not only me but the janitor at my hospital, the person who cleans my office, the assistants, the nurses. … You are basically saying you believe in slavery.”

Last year, Boucher pleaded guilty to attacking Paul after they reached a breaking point over lawn maintenance.

Paul was mowing his yard on Nov. 3, 2017, at his home in Bowling Green when Boucher saw Paul stacking brush onto a pile near his property, according to court records.

Boucher "had enough," ran downhill toward Paul — who was wearing headphones and only noticed Boucher at the last second — and tackled him. A medical expert said the tackle is comparable to a chest trauma that would be seen in a 25-mile-per-hour car crash, according to a Jan. 11 court document filed by Paul's attorney.

Paul is suing for $4,000 in medical costs related to the attack but said the final amount "will continue to be updated through trial and will certainly include the hernia surgery that is currently scheduled to take place in Ontario, Canada."

i'm not a liar and you will be waiting a long time for an apology
cast aspersions and call me all the names you want
its all there and it took you three responses before you ever addressed what you said
and it was a lame "im talking about the Israeli government and not jews" yeah ok
if you want to say i insinuated you're an anti semite then you also insinuated that jews are the problem
maybe you meant it to sound different but it didn't
sounded like the same old bitch statement in a different dress and not all that different tbh
you don't like it and need an apology for what reason?
    are you my bitch?
get over yourself and ban me if you feel so strongly about it
    pretty sure i'll live

    Why would I ban you?
I don't hate you for what you said.
    I'm not angry at you.
You accused my words as coded language for anti semitism.
I explained to you that I was not implying anything racist or anti Jewish in what I said.
That should be enough for two people who arent looking for a fight. Who aren't enemies.

You rather believe that I hate Jews for some reason. And you hate those kind of people.

i thought i tried to say fair enough multiple times and leave it alone
i would hope you aren't anti semetic and i wasn't the one launching a fusillade of name calling
the one particular line i pointed out is hard for me to digest so i told you as much
never anywhere did i call you an anti semite although i can see how you might think i infer it
same as anyone reading your post might easily imagine it to mean something other than you say it did
your attempt to put me on the spot over it could certainly be interpreted as anger but again whatever you say
it wasn't escalating on my part and i'm not walking it back, lying, apologizing, acting weaselly or anything else
or maybe i just interpreted that part wrong again?

i've been through much the same thing with Rube, more than once. At one time, the ban was mentioned...I escaped, and mercifully wasn't cast out.
But I had to swallow a tampon, and it wasn't easy.
