I don't necessarily call him a savior, but he sure as heck would answer a bunch of questions. Putting him in LF full time would allow the team to explore moving Verdugo and Joc for upgrades elsewhere and adding an elite bat to the middle of an already fairly stacked lineup. You could potentially package those two guys with Hill and offset some of the financial implications if you'd prefer that route and continue to reload the farm. The depth in the rotation would take a hit, but that seems to be a storm you could weather early on and add at the deadline if need be.

    Taylor 2B
    Seager SS
    Turner 3B
    Harper LF
    Muncy 1B
    Pollock CF
    Bellinger RF
    Barnes/Martin C

All that with guys like Lux and Ruiz on the way too... lineup could be a true powerhouse in the NL.

And exactly the kind of team it's going to take to even sniff a championship these days...

Wishing Toles the best. Really, really good player honestly and seems like a great guy.

It’s Camello so take it for what it’s worth, but...:
    • He’s says that the Dodgers are still looking to move Joc for a decent prospect package. He claims the prospect capital would be used to acquire “a big name later.” His sources said that the club feels his value is at its peak and now is the perfect time to move him two years prior to free agency as they do not want to resign a platoon player to a long term deal.
    • He says that the Dodgers are eyeing Nolan Arenado for this upcoming offseason or trade for him if the Rockies sink back to the bottom of the division like many think they will. If Arenado were to sign that rumored extension then the focus turns to Trout. When they don’t sign Trout cause he is too expensive we can keep playing this game!
    • His source says that the Padres and Manny Machado are closing in on a deal.

    Lots of questions?
Harper is a question. Every other year he plays like an all star and every other year he does not.
Putting him in LF removes the ability to stick any of our aging or hurting players in LF. It removes the ability to acquire a great hitting player at a bargain because he is mediocre defensively but we can hide him in LF.
And instead of making another hole on the pitching staff and trading our surplus OF lucky charms you could use the 300 million of Bryce money to fill every hole on the team and then some without having to give all your money to a hole and his agent.

I don't know man...it seems to me, not publicly stated almost at all ( like, uh...zero), or mentioned even here by all us Junior GMs, is a awful lot of our future success as the NLW alpha status depends ultimately on Corey Seagar.
and as blessed as the young man is with baseball talents, if he sputters physically or unfortunately even crashes and burns, the immediate and near future plans of the LAD are deeply fucked.
Imo, so much is on this kid, it's gotta be a daunting on his psyche. With guys like Manny around, with no FO interest in him, and this "we'll sign Arenado next year" ( wink, wink) based on history, he'd better live up to it all.
But it does seem like a lot of eggs in that one injury prone basket. Not that if he comes all the way back he couldn't be the franchise as projected...but the best laid plans, etc. Get the Nolan A. lineups ready...
I think Corey's the underlying factor in watching two major players just trickle off to somewhere else.
One thing you can't hide, is when you're crippled inside.
    John told me so...

    Not just Seager. Bellinger, too.

Dodgers could see a lot of improvement internally from those two. Could possibly make up for failing to sign Harper.

I like that the plan is to trade within our division or with our cross-town rival for their franchise players. Equally absurd of a plan is to think a return on Joc Pederson is what will net us the magical piece that makes one of those deals happen. If we successfully trade for Trout this year and a player from a Joc Pederson trade is included, I will officially change my name to AndrewFriedman'sPersonalCocksuckerMouse, because that would solidify him as the most brilliant GM/PresidentOfBaseOpps ever.

Am I the one only laughing their ass off? For north of half a billion you get Hosmer (sucked), Myers (always hurt) and Machado (good when his head is in the game).
