That report is a shot to Philly. They'd better find out if Trout is good with Kapler

Apparently not a fan of applying sun block to his nads.

If Harper doesn't like analytics, why go to the Dodgers and this FO and Roberts?

You zeroed in on the analytical part, but to be fair, he's going to have to deal with that just about everywhere.
Kapler's personality was the real meat there

J.p. Hoorsnstra talking about Seager's recovery on SNLA...

"I think we take for granted Tommy John surgery, assuming it's always going to work. But I remember talking to Brandon McCarthy and he told me that he had to relearn how to throw"

    Yeah, well, McCarthy sucks.

Sounds like Harp would rather have those balls sucked by Roberts

Analytics are mainstream in every Front Office and player development system now. It is inescapable and mostly good for the game. But Kapler is a clown and Bryce knows

analytics shouldn't be a problem for a player of his caliber. Dodgers are like second in using analytics with their club (behind Houston). I think it is less Kapler and more location than anything.

His wOBA on the road since 2016 is .348, which puts him between Matt Kemp and Justin Smoak.

It’s obviously not an all encompassing stat, but he’s at least in some part a product of Coors, and on the road is routinely year after year not the player he is at home. He’s also older than them both by a few years.

He’s a good player who’s only considered elite by those who ignore that he’s way worse on the road every year

It doesn’t matter. Trout is probably the one player in the league a team would drop their manager for... I mean, the manager would resign for personal reasons.

Isn't Manny's wOBA on the road even worse than that? The discrepancy is even far greater than Arenado's, but that doesn't make him any less elite. Btw, Arenado is only a year older than them both. All 3 dudes are top 15 players with Bryce being the best.

Coors allowed 1.271 runs more than average in 2018, Baltimore was .982 Dodger Stadium was .872

Coors was 1.332 in 2017, Baltimore was 1.026

It’s strange that Machado is so split between home and road but isn’t proof of anything. It’s not easier to hit in Baltimore than the average field.

Coors is such an advantage that when you have drastic home/road splits playing there that actually does mean something, at least IMO.

Arenado's career OPS is .200 points higher at home than on the road. His D is elite though, and he's a consistent 5-7 WAR player. I'd put him in similar company to Machado TBH.

I’d be willing to bet that over the next 10 years, barring serious injury, Machado and Harper outperform Arenado by 10+ wins total. But you can probably argue the other way. Just my opinion.
