And do what to LAD fans? Pretty much what Kasten did at that infamous presser a couple weeks ago. Shit on them.

Funny how the nerd element acts as if framing is a newly found skill because they can quantify it statistically now.

Good coaches have taught the skill for years.

OK, so then you wanted Harp? Yesterday it felt like you didn't want him at all. That you just wanted them to get past this and focus on pitching. I can't keep track, everybody everywhere is moving the goalposts..here and on Twitter

If we were willing to go 4 years 180M for Bryce why not go short term high AVV for Dallas and Kimbrel. You can never have too much pitching!

Why not jump in and help their negotiations so they get paid elsewhere? Sounds good

At 10 years and “well north of $300M” no. And it turns out it was north of 10 years and north of $300M. When it was rumored the Dodgers were not even offering 10 years I said we are not going to get him, so focus on pitching.

Well, he gone, and I feel for Verdugo in all of this because he knows he could've likely been dealt and got an opportunity to play somewhere. Where the hell does Verdugo go from here? Back to minor league life. Kyler Murray doesn't know what he's missing.

No thanks on Keuchel. With what we have already and where he is trending that is a pass for me.
I will say that this was my thought in regards to Kimbrel, if they were TRULY serious with that Bryce offer. Kimbrel would add a very interesting dynamic at probably a third of the cost. One problem is that he is supposedly only interested in closing and the other being that the Dodgers probably never thought they were going to be getting Bryce on short term deal and actually having to go over the tax anyway.

I bet if Trout were to tear ACLs in both knees 2 years in a row, need Tommy John twice and choke a couple more years in the post that he'd be a Dodger coming up. You've gotta be beat to shit and weak in October to get paid by the Dodgers. That mean Joc is outta here when it's time for him to hit the market. He's too good in October, doesn't get hurt enough. He gone

Ehh, it wasn't some Dodgers blog and I thought it was interesting. They're big time super heavy analytical nerds at 538 and it appeared to shed some light on a similar train of thought to what the Dodgers FO were thinking with their offer that they damn well knew would never get accepted.

They have said in the past that they don't let fan reaction/outcry impact their decisions. So I am sure Friedman doesn't care all that much.

Stras is hurt enough, but he's been too good in the post too recently. Check him off the list, even though he can opt out after the season. Sale, Verlander and Bumgarner are free next offseason, but all too good. Well, wait a second..Sale sort of checks the boxes. Has struggled in the post quite a bit, deals with his health related stuff. Sale a Dodger in 2020 Lol. Sign him up for 30M+ per

Oh, I know about them. I don't like the timing.

Which should scare you..because if that's true, then it means they truly think Kershaw's decline in stuff and health issues in recent years deemed him worthy of an extension on his 30M+ per Dodger life

So this was something fun I heard the other day. According to Jim Duquette, the Kershaw extension was not the FO's decision at all, but an ownership call. According to him(I am pretty sure it was JD), he talked to a high ranking Dodgers FO member and asked something along the lines of, "what would the team do in the event Kershaw opted out?" The answer was basically thank him for his time in Dodger Blue and thank the heavens that he was now someone else's problem. He said he was taken aback by the remark and asked whomever it was to clarify and they said that the FO is well aware that Kershaw is falling apart and him opting out would be a big help to the club going forward. So when the Dodgers resigned Kershaw, he said he was shocked and the contact wasn't all that thrilled to talk about it.

Oh, I wasn't aiming at the FO. Never have been. They can only do what ownership allows. This is on ownership..I think too often fans lump them together and don't get it. So yeah, Kersh was banged up enough, declining enough and enough of a fan fave to hold onto. The old fan fave treatment..the familiar name that'd keep loyal fans interested, smiling and coming to the ballpark. #kastenattendancepresser

And I'll tell you what's really funny..we're now talking about LAD being fine pitching wise with Kersh being slated to not be in action. Think about that.

Agreed. All they’ve done is bring awareness to it and it’s frustrating.

The other thing that pisses me off is bad coaching teaching kids to pull balls from the other batters box over the plate.. ridiculous
