People raging about the bullpen in Coors Field.......okay then, that's some fine logic.

Kelly obviously needs to get his crap together, and I trust he will, but this isn't the place to judge him or any other reliever.

8-2 is a nice start compared to the usual shitty starts.

We’d be 10-0 if not for Joe Kelly

Is there any team with an actual good bullpen or are we that shitty on that department?

What I learned from reading this games thread is that yall are still obsessed with Yasiel Puig.

It feels pretty good to go to Coors and sweep. It doesn't feel that scary anymore.

Better than Brock but a little shaky nonetheless, then again it is Coors. He was saved by a great throw by Belli when Story inexplicably tried to go to 3rd on a bum leg.

Struggled at first, but once he settled in he looked ok. LOTS of balls on the ground as that sinker really started to dart/dive towards the end of the game. couple things worried me in that he was sitting around 94(usual when he's starter). I was hoping that he would get back to the upper 90's out of the pen, but it didn't happen last night and I really hope that it is cause things have not warmed up yet. Before he got hurt last year he was pumping upwards of 97-98 in stints as a starter, which is how he got the potential high leverage reliever tag. Slider was also really loopy last night and looked more like a curveball, not the hard biting slider where he finds the most success. Between last night and spring training, I am not yet sold on him being back to where he was last season.

But even with the thin air loopy slider and the reduced velo, there is pretty much no doubt he is a much.more effective option than Brock Stewart, eh?
The way sorta slings it up there, a la Dominicana style, he reminds me of Pedro a bit.
    If only, mang.

Oh no doubt, just on his sinker alone he is more valuable. Brock probably will stick around for emergency situations as he has options, but he is probably gone at the end of the season. His velo is down two full ticks since he broke in and his slider for some reason is down 6! He has dealt with shoulder issues in the past so we probably have seen peak Stewart. I like Santana a whole lot, but for him to really hit that ceiling he is going to have to find the velocity he appears to have lost. Otherwise he could trend to mop up guy and that is not what we really want right now. It would be nice if he could keep the loopy slider and still have the hard wipeout slider as well that is rated as a plus pitch when on. Give guys a different look and then with his developing change, he becomes a 4 pitch reliever and that could be lethal when you need 3+ outs.

Yeah but he's no Gulliermo Mota...and can he run backwards ? I'm sure we'll find out sooner or later.

Or 9-1 if not for the Freese double against SF, it all evens out in the end.

Threw one that backed up to Desmond. Desmond's going so shitty that all he could do was stare at pitch that should have ended up in the LF stands. Instead he took it for strike 3.

If Santana can get the kind of sink he was getting on that tailing fastball, maybe a tick or two slower in velocity wouldn't be that big of a factor.

The thing was that he was throwing it 96-98 WITH that crazy sink.... and yeah I know the exact pitch you are talking about. The Rockies are complete idiots for continuing to run that bum out there every night. Tapia did more in the last 3 innings of that game than Desmond has done in 3 seasons with the club.
