No question on his stuff. Just his consistency with it.

Dodgers historically have had strong starting pitching. But this season, they're on a different plane altogether from their competition. Consider these stats where the Dodger starters rank #1, compared to the next best in the NL:

    ERA: LAD - 2.67, MIA - 3.71
    Wins: LAD - 37, PHI - 28
    Losses: LAD - 11, MIL - 21
BAA: LAD - .216, MIA, WAS, and CIN - .237
    OPS: LAD - .621, WAS - .700
    WHIP: LAD - 0.99, WAS - 1.22
    K/BB: LAD - 5.09, WAS - 3.34

Pretty remarkable, and why I think any player acquisition discussion should be focused on BP help and maybe an infielder.

Dodgers are said to be calling up RHP Tony Gonsolin ahead of tomorrow's TBD. Julio Urias was expected to get the start, but now that could be up in the air. The team has been super protective of Gonsolin since returning from his injury and is only up around the 70 pitch mark. So he could be a piggy-back partner for Urias.

Dodgers bullpen has a 2.67 ERA over 60.67 innings in June. Are they coming around?

So maybe we don't need a complete overhaul of the pen, but I hope they're still looking to deal for one or two impact arms. If all these wins gets the FO thinking we're set for the playoffs, they'd be very wrong.

I know he did not show anything special early, but if Pollock could get his shit together plus have Seager back at the same time, the lineup will be sure intriguing.
    1B Pederson
    3B Turner
    SS Seager
    RF Bellinger
    CF Pollock
    2B Muncy
    LF Verdugo
    C Smith

That is a whole lot of offense.... good god, just get an elite arm plus a good arm for the pen and we should be fine.

Seager was trending in the right direction before his injury. I could very easily see him helping the team, especially offensively. But I don't have a lot of faith in Pollock. IMO he's an average player who was paid well in excess of what he was worth. If Taylor or Kiké got hot, I'd rather keep one of them in the lineup over Pollock.

They expect him to be activated July 12th, same as Seager. They are gonna bring both back slowly and likely max out their reps at the MiLB level.

Checkout Muncy splits when playing 2B.

Activated in MLB on July 12th or MiLB? If MLB, that is super encouraging for Seager.

MLB activation, supposedly. Since both have shown in the past that they need as many reps as possible when coming back, they are going to try to get them as many reps as possible over the break.

If Corey is going to get plenty of reps in the MiLB before coming back to MLB on the 12th, that means he'd be healthy enough to play like...next week?

I don't have any faith in Pollock and in a perfect world, he'd be gone. A RH contact bat for 2B with Joc staying in LF to platoon with Kike and Muncy staying at 1B would've been far more ideal.

According to Morosi, the Dodgers and Giants "have not ruled out a Will Smith trade". This is not surprising as familiarity with the Dodgers system could allow for Zaidi to nab some prospects that he feels much more comfortable with. Zaidi has already said in the past that refusing to deal when the Giants are rebuilding and the Dodgers are rolling is idiotic. Saying that the goal is for the Giants to get the best pieces possible and if it meant dealing with a rival, than that is fine. The added advantage to dealing with a division rival is you are negatively impacting their depth for the years ahead when you are looking to be a threat again. We will see, but I feel like a trade for Will Smith would not be something that crushes us on the surface, but maybe he would snag a quantity of guys that he feels have under the radar upside.

Hey, guys. I think I just found a way to get Whit Merrifield, Max Scherzer, Brad Hand, and Felipe Vasquez without giving up that much!...
