Yeah, all of their writers are super bitter that they are not respected. But what do they expect? I read one of their trade deadline articles yesterday and just rolled my eyes.

In one article, they called a reliever "literal human garbage" and Hader of the Brewers "noted racist". Even if those things were true, what does it have to do with baseball? What if that Astros reliever has rehabilitated from his violent behavior? What if Josh Hader was just messing around and said some stupid stuff when he was younger? They are subhuman forever? Dodgers Digest is always judge and jury. Nosler suggested cutting Urias immediately before any evidence came out.

Their comment section is a shit show too.

I used to go into places like that with a random username and post little bit with a link to DSP in my sig or would link to DSP in some way or another. Eventually the account would get banned.
Some of you probably came here from that.

I've never posted on there, but during the 2017 World Series I had a very difficult time watching the games. I would listen to the radio and utilize their live updating comment section to get a gauge of how the game was going.

Don't know if 1B is ever in Peters' future, but at 6'6" he plays a solid CF and has decent wheels. I imagine he'd do OK in either corner of the OF. The way the league is trending with these juiced baseballs, Peters may be a valuable guy pretty soon.

I don't like trading Lux or May either. But press me and I'd trade any 3 to 4 players currently in the org not named Belli/Verdugo/Lux/Seager/Buehler for Strasburg today. So long as only 1 of the young catchers go to DC. Thumbs down on any deal where they lose both Willie and Ruiz. Other than that, I wouldn't give a damn how you line it up with those 4 players..Ryu/Muncy/Joc/May..done. That probably wouldn't get it done from DC's POV, but I'd do that. Maybe throw Ruiz in there and take Muncy out, or not.

I would take Noah or Robbie Ray and wouldn’t want anyone else currently being discussed as available

left hamstring strain. Similar injury to what he was going through before the All star break. Don't know how long he'll be out but I'm betting it's something that hurts him all year but they treat with caution to make sure he is playable during the playoffs.

Im a Ruiz fan but I think he’s the most expendable. Smith is ready now which is important for a postseason run and our future at C. Ruiz has considerable value and can be used to acquire a very good player. We also have Cartaya who projects to be a stud C. Just based on the timelines for each, Ruiz is the odd man out.

Very little belief in a Kershaw-led staff, so I'm behind shipping Ruiz out for the right guy. With all due respect to Ryu, they're still ultimately going to turn to Kersh. We all know it. And that's the stuff of nightmares.

I look at Strasburg and I see some Drysdale features. Big and pretty much in control with strong mound presence. He gets some shit because he needs his share of maintenance like so many other guys in this era, but you really can't tell if it's Spring Training or October when he pitches. Very stoic, focused Glavine-like demeanor. Very little fist-pumping and celebratory fuckery. SoCal guy. Kasten guy. A lot to like. Nats are still in the WC race, and would need some coaxing for sure, but they could use some win now pieces that LAD can actually afford to move. And they need pieces. Plural. Mix in a Ruiz and possibly May. Nats are going to lose some guys this winter, so they need to be looking ahead.

Remember Orel's Dodger Stadium renovation rendering when he was trying to buy the team? Lol.

Maybe another starter but Stras is going to be making 38 mil next year. Dodgers are NOT doing that.

802C5C75-A03C-4E82-AABE-249B8AC3DC2A.jpeg Afternoon Gents, I’m gonna try to post a picture from where this post is coming from right now. So we shall see if that works. Anyway, some updates:
    • The Dodgers have Felipe Vazquez atop their wish list and are apparently working very hard to make it happen. The Pirates are said to not be willing to listen to offers right now, but the FO is apparently not deterred.
    • The club is also supposedly trying hard for Noah Syndergaard. Reports out now are that the Mets asking price for Thor is higher than any player currently on the marker and is being deemed laughable.
    • Speaking of laughable, the Mets are also said to have set a ridiculous price tag for Edwin Diaz at a number higher than what the Mets paid for him just 6 months ago when he was coming off of another stellar year. So far BVW is getting a reputation as someone that may not be reasonable to work with.
    • As mentioned before, Jake Diekman is said to be close to being dealt. Belief is either it will be to the Dodgers or Braves. Both teams have been the heaviest pursuers.
    • The Giants are said to be in full on buy mode now. They are rumored to be scouting some of the leagues top available talents. This is going to be interesting as they have NOTHING to trade. Maybe they move some of their bullpen pieces and flip them for help elsewhere.
    • The Royals are listening on Ian Kennedy and Danny Duffy, but have no intentions of eating salary. Whit Merrifield is officially off the market according to multiple reports.
    • The Reds are said to be listening to offers on reliever Raisel Iglesias. This would have meant something if they had traded him like 6+ months ago.
    • The Brewers are said to be leaning towards going into sell mode. This would be astonishing as the club is only 2 out in the Central and 1 out of the WC. The thing is their thin pitching staff has been absolutely obliterated by injuries recently and word is that either the FO or ownership want to see the team trade off some pieces and look towards next year.
Something to watch for from my point of view. The Dodgers are said to be very willing to deal this deadline and are being incredibly aggressive. I think they could move some pieces, but the fact that Lux and May were “untouchable” a year ago and have only since then erupted even more into the spotlight has me thinking that the chances of moving either are slim to nil. There are also some within the industry that think the club is not really willing to deal any of their top 4(Ruiz and Smith included) amongst a couple of other highly regarded rising spects(Gray? Vargas? Cartaya? DeJesus?). So I wonder if the club could revisit the idea of moving Joc Pederson and using the pieces around him to acquire help elsewhere. Big bats are not really on the market right now and a team pushing for a playoff spot in the AL (Rays? Indians? A’s?) that may not be much of threat could be an interesting source. While Joc has been good, Verdugo has been better and he needs to be playing everyday. It could make the club somewhat thin in the OF, but as long as they keep Rios, Beaty and/or Peters, they could still have solid fill ins until Taylor gets back if that’s the worst case. I’m not saying that this is in the cards, it is just something I thought about since the team is said to be looking to acquire to 2-3 arms now.

^Vasquez has nasty stuff. He was on mlb network and the improvement he has made in his pitching and especially physically is amazing. After seeing that I say get him whatever it takes.

That's what happens when you aim big. Those guys can be expensive.
Justin Verlander makes $33M next season. The Astros are happy to have him. We should have him.

Washington is in the playoffs right now, they aren’t selling Strasburg no matter how bad you want it to happen.

The market for Diaz or Iglesias certainly has changed over the past year. I would have given a haul for either a year ago. Just shows how volatile the position of closer is.

Now I'll contradict myself and say they should be all in on Vazquez, meaning anyone is fair game except Lux and May.

Agree that they shouldn't hesitate to move Joc in a deal.

I am sure we will continue our yearly tradition of acquiring a relief pitcher with a 5+ ERA who has "good stuff".
