To be honest, the Rock In Roll Hall of Fame is overrated. It seems like the exact opposite of what Rock music was all about.

MLB needs to implement a one-game suspension for anybody who leaves the Dugout or Bullpen during hey supposed fight. If two guys want to go at it, let them. None of this fake tough-guy crap anymore.

As for tomorrow's trade deadline... I am not liking what I mean hearing. A lot of the discussion on SportsNet LA and Dodger talk, from the little I've heard, is that they just need a middle of the road type reliever and to move a starter to the bullpen to "get the ball to Kenley".

If getting the ball to Jansen is a goal, we've already lost.

I noticed that in the fight too. Thought that was gonna be it, but he ended up not doing anything again. Dudes are legit scared of him though and it is funny to see them back peddle when he gets close. Him throwing punches in that fight would have been incredibly interesting with the trade going down. Do the Indians call back and say “wait a second, we thought we were getting Puig for 56 games and now it’s 46. We’re gonna have to renegotiate the deal somewhat.”? Anyway, it seems like the Pirates are being massive bitches and the Reds rightfully had enough.

Welp, I’m gonna be asleep for all the madness tomorrow and get to play catch up on Twitter. Today was another incredibly underwhelming day for the game. The feeling going into the 30th was that there were going to be a ton of deals as teams were worried about the minor things that usually are addressed in August, getting swept under the rug with this new deadline if things came down to the wire. So, one major deal involving 2 non-contenders and a small deal happened, but not much else. Here’s everything we know....
    • If Edwin Diaz is traded, the Dodgers are the likely suitor according to Buster Olney. Diaz is marred in an awful season, but still has all the same stuff that made him one of the leagues elite closers over the last couple of seasons. Mike Petriello has an article yesterday saying how Diaz’s placement has been awful this year.
    • While these are the words from Olney, there are multiple other reports stating that growing belief is that the Mets are going to hang on to Diaz.
    • Word is that the Mets have also pulled Noah Syndergaard off the market. There is some belief that the Mets think they are good enough to make the playoffs as constructed.
    • Zack Wheeler is said to be getting interest from the Astros, but like previously mentioned the Mets are starting to think they could compete.
    • A new reliever to keep an eye on is Alex Colomé of the White Sox. His name is being thrown about a bit more in recent days. He is not your prototypical high leverage reliever as he tends to pitch much more to contact.
    • The likelihood of Madison Bumgarner getting traded may be growing. It sounds like the org is split on whether or not to move him. I swear, them holding onto their pieces and then it all falling apart would sure as fuck be something.
    • There is belief that the Giants will at least trade a couple of their relievers before the deadline as they are stacked right now and can afford to move some pieces. Will Smith, Tony Watson and Drew Pomeranz seem to be getting the most attention.
    • FO’s around the league are said to be pissed at the Mets and to a lesser extent the Reds for their two big moves. BVW is believed to be “holding the league hostage” with his antics in regards to his deals and negotiating tactics.
    • The Pirates are growing less and less likely to move Felipe Vazquez according to multiple reports. They are said to be dead set on a return of a top top prospect and clubs are said to be besides themselves in frustration over the ineptitude of the Pirates FO. One anonymous GM mentioned the Pirates by name for being a poorly run organization from top to bottom (SHOCKER!) with no idea of just how terrible they are going to be for the next few years.
    • The new Dodgers Development twitter account has been posting videos over the last couple of hours and it’s kind of funny since many of the guys they are posting about have been speculated in deals.
    • The Astros are the most active team trying to acquire starting pitching with the Yankees right behind them. As the story is with the Dodgers, these two are getting asked about their #1 spects in return for a janitor in deals. The Astros are said to be heavy on Wheeler and Boyd, but fading on Bumgarner.
    • The Red Sox are said to be the most active team on the relief market behind us. Word is that the Dodgers have been more willing to move pieces than the Sox are and they have grown frustrated with the market.
    • Shane Green is likely to be traded and some word is that the Dodgers have targeted him as a secondary piece. He would certainly not fix the issues for the lefty portion of our bullpen.
So that is where we are heading into for the final day of July. I honestly would not be shocked if it is a quiet day and if the Dodgers come away with bupkiss. They have said from the start that they are going to go big game hunting and the big game may not be realistically there. A pen in the playoffs of what they have may not be as shitacular as currently constructed, but that is relying super heavily on Urias, May and Gonsolin to be heroes... a lot to ask out of these kids. Gonsolin flashed today why some believe he’s a potential monster pen arm, but his innings are way down this year. May is now throwing upper 90’s with HEAVY sink, so they are probably gonna give this kid a shot down the stretch and he’s earned it. Maeda is almost certainly going to the pen again, but besides that they are hoping for a lot of dudes to bounce back. Here’s to hoping that I wake up to Syndergaard, Diaz and Vazquez to the Dodgers for Stripling, Barnes, Kendall and Alvarez :).

Bauer for Puig, Bozo the clown for Ronald McDonald, is just too good to be true.
This boring trade deadline needed something, even if it's only comic relief

" Less Puig is not a negative. Good day. **click** " - Reds' brass
3rd team in 2 years, feels like Puig is now halfway to his final MLB destination. Always imagined he'd play for 6 or 7 different teams in his career. Probably quick stops similar to this one from here on out.

Does he get more than just 1 year offers in free agency? Always thought CLE would get Puig from LAD because of Tito @ manager, but also being that CLE is cash poor they have to gamble some. Should be OK while he plays well, but you also never really know how much is revealed during the 2 or 3 months that he absolutely sucks. Guess I could see the Indians and LolMets fighting it out for Puig in free agency this winter..the winner ( or loser) handing over a 2 year deal with a team option to cut it short

Make it 10 games like the NHL.

I'd even throw Santana in, lol. Not sure if you noticed his last start, but he got absolutely obliterated.

Would probably make for more entertaining fights when they do happen. No hiding behind teammates holding each other back.

Bad timing last night in Denver with Gonsolin showing some reliever chops for any trade today. He's also perceived to be an untouchable along with Lux, May and Kiebert. This is going to a VERY quiet day.

MLB needs to implement some changes to make the offseason and trade deadline more entertaining, this shit is brutally boring.

Makes no sense if Kiebert is off limits. Send Keibert packin for vasquez and be done with it.

Doesnt make sense to send Lux and keep Kiebert. If MGT sees Smith as the next catcher, then Keibert is expendable. Lux has to stay. Turner has lost power and wont stay healthy for the year. Seager moves to 3b and Lux slides in at ss.

Well they did need a new mascot on that team. And Puig already has the mohawk experience.

I think its a pretty good idea that Puig decides to project his emotions rather than act on the aggression and actually punch people.
Puig probably knows his limitations as a baseball player and understands that part of the game is putting on a good show.
