Yeah, I don’t know her game plan. What is she arguing about? That it was all legit?

Plus her daughters are such douche bags. Their bitchy entitlement is the worst part of this scandal

Damnit. Rick Ocasek was found dead.

Great tunes and gave every ugly guy a chance to nab someone like Paulina Poriskova.

    My hero. RIP.

    COMMANDRY

Each Command (franchise) will require 6k a month to function and must generate this income by any legal for profit means directed by Commandry (high command).
The funds are for the function of a Command but allotted to the Commander (franchisee) as steward of the Commandry (games night) he presides over.
Commandry (corporate name) will host 1 games a month on a rotating basis between each Command for tactical enjoyment of the other Commanders as well as the member Troopers and Commandos.
There is a 6k franchise fee that each Commander pays to receive his Command.
This goes directly to the Commandry (high command/games night/corporate name = 1 word 3 functions). Easy peasy.

A Commandry consists of a mixture of events over the course of a few hours to nearly all day. Centered around a Dodgers/Lakers or other big sports TV event plus pre and post game activities for participants enjoyment and spectators amusement. As well as ample food and drink.
Franchises will essentially pay the first month up front but quickly see a complete return on their investment the following month.
Their initial 6k investment pays off with another 6k every month in perpetuity as long as the franchisee continues being part of the program.
There is no MLM scheme or franchise opportunity with a better promise than that.
That's a much lower point of entry than the fillies at Chik-fil-a without all their hipster new agey homophobia.
No games on the Sabbath or any new moons because this is LA and we have a lot of Jews.
Saturday nights alright for fighting though. Your chicken sandwich has to have something different than the other guys chicken sandwich.

The catch is that any profits that go over 6k per month go directly to the Commandry corporate office for the spreading of joy to those who need it the most.
The franchisee is promised 6k per month but nothing more.
The money is just to help you be at your best to put on the best possible games night, not to make you rich.
If you are not smart enough for real college then this is better than getting your associates.
The franchisee is essentially buying himself the opportunity to become a well paid member of managing clergy in this new cult focused on bringing joy to the old snakebit curmudgeons still fighting... plus the rest of us who enjoy spending time with them because its the manly thing to do.

I gracefully bear the responsibilities of the High Command and assume the position of entitlement as first Commander.

    Viva Cobra-lalalalalalala!

Do you think Paulina left him and he went south? Or was he in bad shape and she left him because of that?

Drive is an eternal masterpiece. Moving in stereo , let's go and all that quirky madness takes me to another place in time. Now he can play with Benjamin Orr again. Sad stuff.

Moving in Stereo. Ahhhhh...it reminds me of a young Phoebe Cates.

Shake it Up. Good Times Roll. Since You're Gone. You Might Think. My Best Friend's Girl. Really good band and deserving of the Rock In Roll induction. Glad he was alive to witness that.

Sad about Orr though. Much too soon. Can't believe Ocasek and Orr could coexist for so long given their talents.

Anybody watching the Ken Burns' documentary on Country Music?
I thought it would be boring, only took a look because I've enjoyed Burns' work many times, so I figured a watch a little. Can't wait until the next installment... it's fascinating.
    I sure isn't boring, don't miss it.

Yep watched it last night. Gave me a new appreciation for Minny Pearl and Gene Autry as so much more than the characters they played.

Thought his Dust Bowl was spot on. Wasn't a great time for those people to be alive, and felt it conveyed the malaise of the country then.
The photos of the faces caught in that natural horror show, and verbatim recollections of those who faced it were worth watching for those alone.
For me, the best ever on WWII was 'World at War' from years ago. Helped of course, by narration by Laurence Olivier's one of a kind voice. Simply brilliant, with a perfect musical score.
If it came back, I'd watch it again.

The interesting thing about the Dust Bowl in context of world events is it wasn't the only widespread famine happening at the time.
In the dust bowl, millions were displaced and a few thousand died--mostly from the perils of relocation rather than starvation.

Meanwhile in the Soviet Union, Stalin engineered a famine that killed tens of millions of ethnic Ukranians, Khazaks and others.

But we've still got kids waving hammer and sickle flags in the street.

It's probably diluted now, and doesn't ring as true as it once did because the lines are so blurred, but the Churchillian quote " when you're 20, and not a liberal, you have no heart. When you're 40, and you're not a conservative, you have no brain"...I know for myself for that to be true, although the specific ages differed somewhat for me.
It will always be that way.
Fashion models, for a time, hawking for the design house they worked for, wore one item after another with Che Guevara's image on it. Very tres chic. Love that beret !
The guy was a psychotis murderer.
    Such is the human condition.

I did it all backwards. I went from conservative, to liberal, to anarcho-capitalist...all over the course of my 20s.

Most of us on this forum probably fit this description.
Even Bill Maher is starting to notice that the liberals he champions are not on his anti politically correct side anymore. They have turned into Tipper Gore and the moral majority.
Young people without a heart grow up to be old liberals but they never stop using fear mongering of existential threats real or imagined to terrorize whomever bends the ear.
