Villar... I mentioned him once or twice and then folks became obsessed with me mentioning him.
So I began to throw him in randomly into my posts just to troll.
Villar has always been a cheap and available speedy leadoff hitter to help set the table or manufacture runs vs lefties.
Something this team is always missing btw.
Villar can play any position and would be the natural upgrade over Taylor and Kike as the ultimate UT guy because he can steal 30 to 50 bases a year.
Would be cheaper than trading for Sterling Martin.
IMO the team needs a good leadoff guy who can steal bases.

Chris Taylor is fast, can play multiple positions, with similar OBP and pop as Villar.

If this team had Puig and Villar over Pollock and Taylor the team would have more... color.
As it is its missing a little... soul.
What im saying is that you soulless wights are scaring jobu away from the bats.
Jobu needs some more colored human that has not had most of his male personality and natural character corralled out by the refining process of roofs and walls and sheepswool suits.

    LF: Joc/Villar
    3B: Turner
    2B: Muncy
    1B: Donaldson
    CF: Bellinger
    C : Smith

    RF: Puig

Give this team a two year window until the big contracts are all done then turn it over to the kids.

    SS: Lux
    3B: Seager
    CF: Bellinger
    RF: Verdugo
    1B: Rios/Muncy
    2B: Muncy/Downs

    LF: Beaty/Peters

Gotta be my favorite narrative going right now..Nats' fans trolling Harper as if their ownership didn't make at least 2 offers to Harper in excess of $300M. Harper turns them down, and now the Nats are 1 up..until they meet Houston. But it's all fun and games for now.

LAD fans had to learn the hard way too with all the " we don't need Harper " stuff..needed 1 knock to break it open against Stras and couldn't get it, 75% of the lineup incapable of doing a damn thing. And like the Nats' FO, LAD's FO was right there in Vegas trying to get Harper signed last offseason. Lol

As much as I love Puig, the truth is he was a distraction. The amount of media coverage and casual fan talk devoted to a guy who was maybe the 15th best player on the club? He’s better than Pollock, that’s for sure, but also not saying much.

As far as Villar vs Taylor, they are the same player. I’m not budging in that opinion. If I was working on The Show 2020 and I had to fill in Villar’s player ratings, I would just copy/paste Taylor’s numbers and call it a day.

I wonder how much better we could have been with a little distraction.
Imo this near perfect reg season team was too uptight in the playoffs. Needed some distraction like Puig to keep them from falling into the ditch they did in the end.

In the real show Villar is better than Taylor. It's not all up to numbers. CT is not much of a catalyst while Villar likes to be the guy starting shit up.

For those of you old enough to remember '81, Ken Landreaux caught the final out in CF at Yankee Stadium.

Fast forward many years to a local golf tournament and I was playing in a group with him. He told me everything in the book was thrown at him at Yankee Stadium, including an open pocket knife. Some of this shit was raining down on him as he caught the final fly ball.

don't doubt things were being thrown but an open pocket knife?
how about a dead baby or monkeys arm holding an apple
sure he has some license to embellish the story but I think for the most part the abuse is verbal in NYC

Without a doubt. My only joy watching these games is playing Roberts bingo, guessing what stupid move he would have made instead. Says a lot that my immense hatred for him grows even in games where he's not even involved.

If the Yanks don’t get more than 1 run in the 1st, they’re toast.

The Yanks have to solve Cole.

I can’t believe I’m actually rooting for the Yankees.

Am I evil for wanting Verlander to sprain his dick and throwing arm simultaneously?
