    we aren't getting Rendon
adding the prick attitude of Bum might be exactly what we need who knows?
truly sucks to think we wasted all this opportunity w the young talent
won't be long till we get to watch them winning w other teams

You know, I was thinking about it and aside from the obvious shit from the past that would be on the surface for a while, that would die down after the cheese-dick MB/MM handshake photo, and some success. Also, to compare their past transgressions against us, Puig was polarizing and Max, awesome as he is, is not the face of the team like Kobe was. Madbum and Kershaw have mutual respect for each other and they both showed it. More importantly, maybe his personality would add some much needed edge to the clubhouse that even Roberts' kumbaya bullshit can't completely kill.

If we sign him I'd eventually warm up to it. YMMV.

You left off May and Gonsolin. And Tanaka is basically a poor man's Ross Stripling.

Here's a question, if the Dodgers sign Ryu does that move the needle in the Dodgers' direction?

This is how I feel too. 2 weeks ago I would have said "hell no", but I'm warming up.

The Bay Area is having a meltdown about Bum possibly being a Dodger. They have already written him off as a traitor, and nothing has even happened yet. People saying they would boo him at Oracle Park of he pitched there with the Dodgers.

Their fanbase sure has been something to watch the last year or so. They have been freaking out about every minor move that Farhan has done(sounds familiar), gotten mad when they heard they were going to try to sell off a lot of pieces, went apeshit about the Kapler signing, moaned about cutting out the heart of the team with his whole 1 WAR in Pillar and now they're on the verge of mutiny cause their former star has interest from their biggest rival. I think that org is entering a troubling time as it appears that ownership and the FO are not on the same page as the owners pushed for the Harper signing when Zaidi reportedly had no interest in doing so as he's pushing for a rebuild. Now the ownership is supposedly willing to step in and push the team to retain MadBum due to the blowback. It would be nice to have an ownership that is emotional/sentimental, but fuck make it for the good of the team. Anyway, please Giants owners, get involved!

Alden Gonzalez with a couple of notes
    • The Dodgers felt good about their chances to land Gerrit Cole and thought they might get him right up until the time he chose the Yankees. They don't think the money was enough of a difference to lose out on him; they think in the end he simply wanted to be a Yankee.
    • The Dodgers might be the most interesting team to watch moving forward. They are very open to making relatively drastic changes to their core group, however that manifests itself, and are having a lot of conversations on both fronts, targeting mostly elite players.
    • Dodgers offer was 8 years $300M with deferrals. Belief was that as soon as someone went to 9 years, Cole pounced.

" You don't really wanna know about that, G. Let me tell you about my bomb ass ping pong tourney instead "

He's truly dumb as rocks if he throws salt on his SFG legacy just so he can hop on with this club and lose

Should just go where the taxes aren't killer and ride off into the sunset

CC over us, Stanton over us, now Cole over us.

I know the Stanton situation has been ugly but I am sick of coming 2nd to the GD Yankees on marquee players.

Their fans make Giants fans seem like saints.

Almost wonder if they threw out that offer to Cole knowing it would come in 2nd so they could say "Hey we did try to spend!!!" when they inevitably sign nobody worth a shit.

With the Lakers elite again, Dodger stadium will only be occupied by people that are bored and wanting to post Instagram/Facebook photos.

Other fans will shift their focus completely to the one franchise in LA that actually delivers titles and acquires elite talent.

Giants fans are “screaming for Zaidi’s head” for DFA’ing Kevin Pillar? Might have overstated that one a little lol

They have absolutely been going nuts. A bunch of their local media is talking about how they are cutting out the team's heart and I guess he was super popular with the fans. Their reactions are out there and yes, they want him gone.

I think they were aggressive and thought that location and being in the NL was going to be the ultimate factor for him, so being in the neighborhood of the Yankees was good enough. They did offer a higher AAV, but the extra year was what killed them.

Rockies listening to offers on Arenado.....no way the Dodgers could get them interested without giving up the moon.
