MLB has determined that the Astros cheated in 2017. Here are the underwhelming penalties.
    • GM Luhnow suspended 1 year
    • Hinch suspended 1 year
    • 5 M Fine to club
    • Loss of 1st and 2nd rnd picks in 20-21
    • Cora could be penalized after Red Sox investigation

We need to start doing some serious cheating if the only big "punishment" is Dave Roberts being suspended for a year. Sounds like a win-win.

Can’t believe these are the “harshest” penalties MLB has laid on a team for cheating....blatant cheating.

In other news, we sign Alex Wood. The Dodgers are like the mystery pooper in Colorado. The gift that keeps on giving.

    What. A. Fucking. Joke.

Shaking my head right now. I support the Dodgers setting up cameras now. Why the fuck not with this slap-on-the-wrist bullshit. Fuck Baseball.

The players are like fuck yeah. We get paid regardless and MVPs and Championship trophies stay on the shelf.

    Embarrassing

    so if we had cheated...
we could have (potentially) had two trophies and we’d be without roberts and andy for a year?...
    agree with @BlueMouse... do it

Jim Crane says this doesn't taint the #Astros' World Series title....others disagree

Why would he, they get to keep the trophy.

Some details from the investigation (https://img.mlbstatic.com/mlb-images/image/upload/mlb/cglrhmlrwwbkacty27l7.pdf):
    • $5 million is the maximum fine allowed under the Major League Constitution
    • Alex Cora was one of the key people who organized setting up the cameras, but Manfred said he wants to wait until the Red Sox investigation is complete to hand down punishment to Cora
    • Their GM, Luhnow, claimed he had no knowledge of the cheating (Yeah right).
    • AJ Hinch knew about it, but didn't approve. (Yeah right)
    • Manfred didn't want to punish players because their were too many involved and it would be too complicated (WTF? So if you cheat, just cheat big?)
    • Taubman was also mentioned in the report, but he is already on temporary suspension, so Manfred figures he's good there.
    • Manfred made sure he mentioned in the report that the Astros were "unquestionably a very talented group" and it's hard to predict what would have happened without the (Fuck off, bitch)
    • Update: Jim Crane fires Luhnow and Hinch, to save face, as if his organization isn't a cesspool of cheaters and lowlifes. I wouldn't be surprised to see Cora and Beltran dismissals following this.
