You think Betts alone wins us a WS in 1 year? I guess Kershaw is no longer starting in the postseason and Kenley is no longer closing.

Verdugo makes it through seasons like barbers make it through his visits without him asking for a stupid hairdo

I know they were a Bryce Harper away from beating the Nats and getting back into the WS.

Even with those expensive bums weighing them down.

Maybe we get lucky and they move Pollock in the Mookie Betts deal, giving us Betts, Verdugo, Joc, and Bellinger... and you can take Bellinger out since he will move to 1B as soon as Turner gets hurt.

Wouldn't mind ditching Seager, too, before they have to make the decision to pay him. Sounds like they went after the annual 3 team trade with Seager involved - would've landed them Lindor.

Should try the same in an effort to get Betts..pull Seattle in and ship Seager off to Seattle (or Cincy)

If Price is coming back, Pollock has to be going somewhere..I would try to shoot Kenley the fuck outta here too.

    Kershaw - we're stuck

Like what I've seen from Verdugo, but at the same time I'm wary of a young player who has back issues.

Sure...didn't you know? But...uh...we won't have the ML ERA leader any more, but we've still got Machine Gun Kelly the Loser and the triumphant return of Alex "down a few notches" Wood. And it's guaranteed that May will be fabulous, right?. And Bellinger will definitely be MVP again, I'm sure, right?
The BB Oracle(s) told us absolutely Strasburg was untouchable, and we went out, irl, and got three runs off him immediately.
Then, that Max Scherzer was definitely a choker, without a doubt, and then, irl, we couldn't do shit against him.
And it's written in stone Kershaw and Jansen will 100% fail.definitely.
And we don't even have Hill for inspiration anymore.
So maybe Betts wouldn't be enough at all. Maybe a 106 win season again is not a lock in 2020.
So maybe the oracles don't know shit, just like everyone else doesn't.

If the issues are major, they won't be able to trade him. IF he really is the centerpiece of a deal, then that lines up with everything I have read about the injury in that it is not considered to be anything major. It sounds like it was more of a chain reaction thing that started with general soreness in the back, then he tried to play through it which caused the oblique thing which reverted back to his back. Since he is also a guy who has bulked up a bit the last couple of years, I would not be shocked if it all kind of lined up from that as well. The medical industry has taken so many leaps forwards in recent years that the issues of today are not nearly as severe or career threatening as they used to be. If they can find a way to land Betts without moving Verdugo, I would be thrilled. If Verdugo is the only thing standing in the way, then they need to move him. Verdugo has the potential to be a great complimentary piece. Those are a lot easier to replace compared to simply a great player.

Can you convince the Cubbies/Epstein to help us win a WS?

Bloom seems to already be on board with the idea.

Oh brother. Can you tell that to our sponsors? Haha. If you are interested, I will be on the Locked on Dodgers podcast next week to talk fantasy related Dodgers. Also, we just started a YouTube show and could use some algorithm love.

The above is a link to our most recent show. Any bump will be greatly appreciated.

Shitty ESPN. " Breaking news " flashes across my screen just now - saying LAD and BOS are " deep in talks " for a Betts trade.

" Deep in talks " is now breaking news? You dirty rat bastards.

The report that Fall is referring to is from Buster Olney and for some reason I can't post the subject line. Olney said the chances for a deal were 8.5 out of 10 as recently as yesterday in a tweet and he is a bot more in depth here. He mentions Verdugo and May as potential pieces, but May has said to be considered off limits for some time now.

He also said on MLB Radio that he would be willing to bet the family farm that he is traded to the Dodgers.

This is pretty weird as Olney is normally not this forward/outspoken about this stuff. At least not that I can remember.

Definitely post the link for when you're on next week. I am sure more than a few of us on here would be interested to have a listen.

If we acquire Price, he will outperform (WAR) Kershaw in 2020.
