It's 42° right now, and the heavy rain feels like ice bullets. So nasty. Couldn't even walk the dogs again.
No shit, you wouldn't believe this.

You are a special type of pussy ass bitch if Jeff Bezos being projected to become the worlds first trillionaire pisses you off or you think he should be taxed extra.

Is anyone really adept at buying American? I want to commit to this philosophy, but it's proving to be more challenging than one would think. I wish there was a website that listed options for all different types of products.

    Same here.
I realize most things would be significantly more expensive because of the more favorable labor and tax/regulatory climate overseas, but I'd be willing to pay more for many things, knowing they came from America.

Mostly I just don't want things from China...at least as long as the CCP is in charge.

    CCP is the main deal.
There used to be a big made in the USA push in clothing when we were growing up. It didn't take hold. It might have been ahead of it's time.
We have a new deal with Mexico and Canada. Both are socially liberal governments and both are being courted hard by the CCP.
These are are core allies and ARE technically America... As in the continent.

This can be sold to the public as not exactly made in the USA but still made in America
You get a wider range of products to sell and while keep costs low by using the allied labor of our neighbors.
Many choice Central and South American nations would have incentive to join the treaty so they can enter the lucrative market.
It's like when you pay more for your bananas because they have a sticker that says organic.

Ford and other big companies have been building cheaper in Canada and Mexico for years.
And the greater american maritime empire extends it's golden fringe across the Pacific and up and down the Atlantic.
Japan, Australia/NZ, Britain, the anti CCP islands like HK/Taiwan, South Korea, Israel can form the strong backbone of the greater empire.
If the Indian subcontinent joins it would give the empire the key foothold against the looming CCP trade federation fleet incoming. India is primed to boom economically.

Made in the USA getting the most tax breaks of course.
Followed by Made in the Trans-American Union and the Empire of Great America.
I didn't mention the Arabs or Emirates or any of our near east holdings since all of those countries essentially lie on shifting sands.
Like any new hope it can only begin at the grassroots level.
That's how to make it in America.
    And the American dream.

Who owns the Made in USA trademark?
What about Made in America/ the Americas?
We can appeal for legislation designed to help made in america companies or those made by the special partners in the greater american trade network.
    Made in the Great America!
    We can have pretty hats.

I'd be willing to pay more too, within reason. It's just hard to know that it truly is completely made in the USA.

Kind of funny... last week I wanted to get new socks. Did about 20 minutes of research and found that Carhartt offers a line of American-made products. Ordered my $20 worth of socks and felt pretty good about myself. Then I bought a $2000 gazebo from Costco that my wife and I have been eyeing for a while. Was delivered the next day with "Made in China" marked all over the shipping containers. FML. It'll probably fall apart after a couple of years anyhow. Maybe next time I'll pay double to have it custom made.

i have some pretty cool lumber i salvaged off the old Thai bar that used to be down the street
i was going to build something at the school in the way of a cover but strangely started eyeing that costco gazebo lol
its huge heavy stuff, iirc the pieces are 12x12x8 w 6x6 overheads...if you're interested i'd give them to you
would require a stake truck and some laborers to move no question

Tired of feeling stationary with the living situation, I have a strong interest in joining the van life (van converted into a RV). Want to be able to pickup and go anywhere I want, whenever I want.

Main issues I have right now is I have absolutely zero carpentry/electric/plumbing skills so I cannot do it myself and buying a pre-converted van is so damn pricey with little financing options. Figure I can buy a new Ram Promaster 3500 High Roof EXT and get financing through the dealership/bank, would probably be about $600-700 monthly (cheaper than rent) then pay somebody/people to design and build the interior.

If y'all know somebody solid who would like the opportunity to build a rolling business center/man cave, let me know! If they aren't too costly, of course. We ballin' on a budget over here still. I haven't made my money yet but I will, just gotta keep grinding. I'd want to keep the material costs around $6-9k total.

not into it for the money but just looking at that vehicle what exactly would you want in the way of plumbing?
looks like a large van more or less
are you thinking you want to work out of it as well or just a living space?
send me a link to your vision if there is one

Plumbing may be the wrong word but I want to have a shower in the van of some capacity so I can be as hygienic as possible, even more so than now. I know I will need some sort of large water jug perhaps 35 gal or so. As simple as this might sound to some, I do not know how any of that shit would work. I could learn some basics by watching videos on YouTube and I should, but I guarantee I would find a way to fuck it up massively if I did it. In addition to the “plumbing” issues with the connection of the shower, I would also want to have a sink to wash dishes. Likely needing another water jug to connect to.

I would want to gut the vans cargo area to the bare bones and build from there.

I want to work out of it and use as a living space. My work primarily consists of gathering information in various capacities, buying, and bringing in raw materials that will eventually go into nutraceutical finished goods. Pills, softgels, tablets, etc. Work for a contact manufacture as a buyer. There is absolutely no reason I need to go into an office. Only things I will need in order to use the space as an office would be a place to put a PC tower, two 20” monitors, and high-speed internet. In fact, once the economy opens up, I would be able to use the van to drive to different cities to have more face-to-face meetings in attempt at establishing better work relationships. While being able to take my time between destinations to enjoy the natural beauty on the way. Eventually pay off whatever loan I used to fund this thing and really be able to save then invest some cash, while continuing to build myself in this industry to make somebody pay me. I am going to pull my family out from the mud, teaching the next of our generations that they can do anything as long as they are willing sacrifice comfort.

There isn’t a clear-cut vision yet. At best, a ROUGH outline of what I believe I deem are musts.

    Musts list:
    Shower
    Toilet
Kitchen setup with workable cooking section (electric/propane, whichever would be wiser in the grand scheme of things)
    Permanent bed layout
Plenty of power: solar, battery, combination, whatever it took to power electronic devices through sunless spells and constant use.
A spot for my electronic devices
    Enough storage spaces

I do not have a blueprint, rough or finished, but here is the video that kind of make me think this was a possibility.

If this turns out to be something and you were to help me out with this, I would have serious interest in working side-by-side with you to complete this project. In whatever capacity you deemed as the most effective. If I fetched the tools, did hands on work, watched and learned, only questioned, got the beer, whatever you deemed best. If nothing comes from this, I appreciate the conversation.
