One of the "other guys" (Urias, May or Gonsolin) has to become a dependable third starter or the championship drought will extend another year.

The big fear with guys like Julio/May/Gonsolin as 3/4 starters in the postseason is the bullpen being burnt out.

May/Gonsolin are so inexperienced and Julio seems incapable of going past 4 innings.

A Dodgers WS run is going to lean heavily on Walker/CK pitching really well.

Except all 3 have bullpen experience. The club could be looking at one or more of those guys to go to the pen to bridge the gap to the pen. Still, I agree that adding a reliable starter should have been the goal. At the same time, only one of those guys were traded this year.

Yeah, Lynn very sloppy and unkempt, a "Pig Pen" clone. Does not pray at the St. Garvey altar.

Good point....Julio/Gonsolin would seem like the obvious candidates to go to the pen. I pray that Alex Wood doesn't factor into any equation for the Dodgers.

The biggest fear, always come October, is gonna be the bats for me. This team is great right now because the bats are elite and the lineup is the best in baseball

but if Bellinger and Seager become auto outs, and a couple other guys slump, we’re doomed. But if everyone is doing at least normal, we beat anyone.

the pitching can figure things out, and with a larger bullpen, we don’t need the starters to go that deep in the playoffs. I’m not 100% sold on the bullpen but there’s enough talent to feel good, combined with the very good defense. Just need 2 of Urias/May/Gonsolin/Wood/Stripling to figure something out and then the rest become great bullpen pieces

but nothing matters if Bellinger and Seager can’t stop whiffing on back foot sliders

With a 28-man roster and the DH, we can stack the bullpen with arms this year. I think it's going to be hard to burn out the bullpen.

LOL, Padres made another trade right before the deadline with the Mariners. They acquired Taylor Williams, the reliever the Padres torched for a giant comeback with 2 outs and nobody on in the last inning to walkoff the M's this week. Something tells me that they saw something in his delivery that they can fix.

glad we didn’t trade for lynn
as @ColoradoKidWitGame said earlier, our bats waking up would be the biggest addition

I like that we've scored the second most runs per game in the league, and we are talking about the bats "waking up".

For 2 PTBNLs. It's just a move for prospects.

My guess is they got to a point where Ross was quickly going to not have a rotation spot and they did good by him to move him where he has more of a chance, and u can use your better arms

he was very good as a Dodger though, extremely versatile as a starter and reliever especially in long seasons. He wasn’t an elite arm though, and so he’s not that useful in a playoff series but in the regular season, he gave a lot of damn good innings

MGT must think Wood will be healthy enough to let Stripling go
