Astros have some big questions this off season. Grienke is in decline. Verlander has TJ. No Cole. Corea is a FA I believe. Altuve looked like ass this year but is locked up for awhile (best benefit from cheating?). JK Reddick will probably be gone. Is Guriel also gone?

Anyway, I hope this is the breakup of them Cheating Astros of the 2000’s.

Springer, Brantley, and Reddick are Free Agents. Everyone else is under contract or team control. Correa has one more year of arbitration, and Guriel has 2 years of arbitration.

I kind of wanted to Asterisks to win so the yoyers could get another shot at them. The theatrics would've been great.

No way. Beating them would have been amazing, but I can only imagine how awful that would have gone. The umps would be wound super tight so we couldn't even think about pitching inside. The Astros leaned into being the bad guys and saying that it was them against the world. That shit would have been sooo fucking terrible to put up with.

1 year ago I would agree with you wholeheartedly.
But I don't have the same emotional/live or die connection to the Dodgers as I used to...
...so I'm speaking from a pure entertainment standpoint.

Losing the insane highs I used to get off playoff moments (Joc, Uribe, Loney) is a little saddening but I get to avoid the agonizing lows I used to feel.
    Definitely a trade off.

In some circles, they call that bi-polar.

    • Baseball America named Tony Gonsolin their MLB Rookie Of The Year. Overall of the top performing rookies, they felt he was the most consistent and he showed enough that they now think he has star upside. They considered May for it as well, but his inability to miss bats has them worried about his upside going forward.
    • On October 12th, the Dodgers joined only the 2013 Cardinals in having 4 pitchers throw 98 MPH or higher in the same game.

Yeah, he got off to such a hot start that the press will probably go with that and just ignore that he was abysmal the day the calendar flipped to September. This was one reason why they moved off of him. Also like I mentioned, they think Gonsolin has better upside long term.
