Dodgers top offer was 4 yrs and $60M for LeMahieu. There were multiple reports that the Dodgers would have had to blow the Yankees out of the water for him to move on. Jay’s offered 4 at $78M

You left the real juice out.
Dodgers signed the number 3 overall rated International prospect. 17 year old Wilman Diaz. SS out of Venezuela. Known for his bat but has it all.

My thought is the Angels. They’re always desperate and will let this dude play around with going on short rest every outing. They signed Otani as a two way player, why not let Bauer pitch every 4th day.

Should have to blow a guy out of the water if you want him to leave those AL east launching pads. Would obviously make a bunch of money in either place, but only gonna truly earn the $ in the east. Who wants to feel like they're robbing a bank every time they show up at the park?

LAD being under the microscope for years now....would be nothin but criticism waiting for Lemahieu. Especially if he were replacing a Justin Turner while not living up to the contract. Lemahieu only had to pout a little and talk to the Jays to get the Yanks to go to 6 years. Now, we net Turner for 1/3 of the price and do a touchdown dance

Really hope this dude turns into a stud. Right now we just don't have anyone in the system that is projected to have a ceiling as a superstar everyday player. A lot of good prospects with solid upside, but Miller seems to be the only guy we have that has big time star power potential from everything I've read. We have got to start hitting on our Int'l guys since we draft so low every year. The shit that Glaser was saying about Rodriguez was another major bummer from our Int'l market as he was felt to be a superstar in the making. Would love to finally snag one of these top Int'l prospects that ends up blowing the world away. So far you could point to our Int'l scouting department as potentially the only true failure by our FO. They have picked up some big dudes every year and they are still yet to convert them into anything special. Ruiz is at the top of our list, but he was a gem in the rough guy and he is still more solid than star.

Yeah, LeMahieu is one of those guys that he is just sooo hard to peg. He has a great hard hit rate, but those career splits are scary. If we signed him and he adjusted to be the same guy he was in NY, that would have been a steal of a contract. The only way I really will go "aw shucks" is if he starts hitting on the road and does it at a more than solid clip. If all the HR's continue to be at Yankee Stadium, then you just say that guy was made to play at that park. I broke down his away numbers since being a Yankee and while he had a couple good series on the road in pitchers parks in 2019, his solid overall road numbers got a heavy boost from him going off the rails in the hitter parks... including murdering the Orioles minor league team.

I agree, more good than bad when it comes to Baez' time on the team. But still, like with Wood, I think this was the right time to part ways.

One thing that's kind of funny, during his whole stint with the Dodgers, I could never forget the video of him in the Arruebarrena (talk about failed international signings) AAA fight. As a portly dude even back then, he threw a couple haymakers that missed everything and then spent most of the rest of the melee pinned in the net. Not sure why that stuck with me - I guess the way that I see it is that if I had a teammate that pulled a chicken-shit move like Arruebarrena did, I wouldn't come running in fists a-flying.

    Baez is #30.

Even his hard hit rate....it just doesn't play enough against power arms and we know that's typically what you see a lot of in the postseason. Maybe Lemahieu will improve, but at nearly 33 years old I have to doubt it

Would have more confidence in Joc stepping to the plate in OCT. 98 from Glasnow....outta here. 430 feet, exit velo nearly 110. That's enough contact for me

I've had him pegged to the Angels as well.

I honestly don't mind a lot of Bauer's personality. The video you linked I actually found interesting. He also has some good videos where he breaks down a particular AB or pitch sequence. But about 10% of the time he crosses the line to straight up troll. I would worry about how he would rub off on the rest of the locker room, and the elephant in the room is the cheating and how that will play out over the next couple years. The Angels are a team that has shown they will throw caution to the wind to sign a big name, and the marketability of a player is almost more important than their actual talent. Besides the fact that Bauer wants to compete for a chance at the WS, the Angels would be a good fit. Even then, they are in a very winnable division and Bauer could be the piece that pushes them into the 86 win, playoffs stratosphere. A guy who wants to make 40+ starts? The Angels don't exactly have the staff to turn that down.

My guess is the Dodgers, Yankees, and Astros are off the table as options for him. The perennial contender water gets a little murky after that... Braves, Padres, followed by half the league clumped together.

    Good for DJ.

His numbers would fall off big time if he played in an MLB stadium.

That little league park is perfect for him.

Yeah. I don't like hearing the word "concerned" associated with a prospect. Especially when you are 21. Things should start coming together rather than falling apart.

Agreed. I actually like Bauer. I like how he uses slo motion video and other tools for pitch development. I actually use some of the same technology to work on pitch development with my son and other players.

I just feel like his idea of going every 4th day and possibly push others out of their schedule won’t fly basically anywhere let along a contender for a WS.
