I actually think Kenley’s stuff looks better than anything last year. His cutter is moving a lot at 89-91, but he’s still pumping it up to 94-95 where it flattens out a bit. Then has a slider. He’s almost a 3 pitch pitcher which is interesting. I’m maybe in the minority but I still think he’s fine as the closer for regular season, the playoffs is the playoffs and there’ll be so many other arms and variables that it’s not worth predicting what happens and obviously we can win it all with him as a “sometimes closer”. But for now, I like Knebel/Victor getting the tough outs during the middle innings and Jansen having the easier clean 9th

Treinen is the one I’m not sure about. He’s been shakier than Jansen but his stuff looks good. I wouldn’t trust him as a year long closer (I’d bet he blows more games) but obviosuly good enough as a set up dude.

The one bullpen need we probably do have is a left handed reliever so Victor doesn’t pitch everyday. I don’t think Price/Alexander can be effective as left handed set up guys yet

I like Treinen's stuff, too. Just not sure where it's going at times.

Strange outing for Kenley last night. Four pitch walk to the leadoff hitter (none of the pitches close), a quick K of the PH, then goes 3-0 to Hampson before settling down and blowing him away. Then he puts Tapia (a real pest) away with ease.

Farhan is doing his job in SF. But it also helps when you have played so so teams thus far.

Not Julio's best game, but here's a cool stat: Going back to 2019, he's had 18 consecutive starts without taking a loss.

1st and 2nd 0 outs with a 2-0 count to Trevor Story and he escapes.

I was so ready to bash Price lol

    This team is incredible

94 mph fastball with cut with his good changeup from the left side is more than good enough to be an effective reliever. Some of these guys are gonna fuck up eventually but I love the idea of everyone getting shots at high leverage

To be fair the first hit was an off the end of the bat fly ball and the second was a seeing-eye ground ball. But it was pucker time when he went 2-0 to Story. Had visions of a three run blast coming up. Nice recovery by Price.

He fits the Dodgers and Roberts philosophy perfectly: be flexible in your role and if you stay true to that, we’re gonna find great spots for you to shine. Price has been a great model of it and now look, he’s a high leverage reliever who can spot start. Hope it continues

I’m still laughing at Dennis Santana being used as a set up guy though. That’s jsut rude to the Rockies
