I think its time to start taking a close look at how our Roster is shaping up (both the 25 and 40 roster). Here's how it looks right now:

25 roster (guys that are a lock and have defined roles):

    Lineup (8):
Mark Ellis 2B, Crawford LF, Kemp CF, Gonzalez 1B, Hanley SS, Ethier RF, Cruz 3B, Ellis C

    Bench (5):
FedEx C, Hairston IF/OF, Punto IF, Schumaker LHPH/IF/OF, Uribe Dirtbag

    Rotation (5):
    CK, Greinke, Bills, Beckett, Ryu

    BP (7)
Paco LHRP, Elbert LHRP, Guerra RHRP, Guerrier RHRP, Belisario 7th inn, Jansen setup, League Closer

other guys on the 40 man roster:

    Pitchers (10):
Ames, Capuano, Ely, Fife, Harang, Lilly, Magill, Tollerson, Wall, Withrow

    IF (3)
    Gordon, Herrera, Sellers

    OF (2)
    Castellanos, Puig

    MY TAKE:

Most of the spots are a lock right now (lineup is mostly set, unless a 3B trade happens). The only variations I can see are in the BP (Tollerson could fight his way in over Guerra and maybe Lilly over Paco or Elbert as long relief or LHP).

We do need a strong RHPH to help from the bench. I wanted to bring Rivera back as PH/1B/RF but I guess that wont happen unless he's still jobless by February.

I think we have good trade chips in Cap, Harang and Lilly, with Castellanos possibly having some value for low budget teams. Our BP looks strong, even more when you have guys like Withrow, Wall and Tollerson sitting in AAA that could provide more depth. This is a strength area.
