I think Stanton hit another bomb today
His OPS+ is right behind JT´s..man, like 162 and JT´s is 166 I believe or something like that
43HRs..yeah, Stanton could challenge for 60
55 seems like a good number to place him at HR wise
This is his best year in the bigs..hasn´t even had the unlucky injury..yet.

You can put Stanton into the same category as those other 3. His contract is not great at all and he's signed through the 2027 season at figures between 25 and 32 Mil a year. Zero chance this front office goes after Stanton.

No Dodger baseball tonight and I'm checking out the scores.

Kind of nice when all you (speaking for myself) care about is that the Giants lose and that box got checked tonight.

I think the right combination of players will be in place by October and we are going to win the World Series.

It does hurt me a little bit inside though that Logan Forsythe will get a ring while everybody else did all the work.

I guarantee that if we do make the World Series and somehow win it all this year, Logan will have been the NLCS MVP on the way there.

The other 39 guys on the 40 man roster agree with this.

Fuck. Who remembers the site Dodgerblues?

Going. Loooooong way back. But we faced an Arizona guy named Davis who beat cancer, and then beat us the return game. Someone on that site made a fucking savage meme about the Dodger pitcher strike zone, and a guy returning from cancer strike zone. Was pretty damn accurate and clever. If not, a little savage.

I went to the Royals-A's game today. Some guy whose name I'll forget in two months hit a grand slam and Drew Butera gave me a baseball

    Remember it well..
How about that dude Sarah Morris' Dangly Ham? He was the terror of the site, excoriating and insulting just about everyone, except his remoras who got off and encouraged everything he wrote.
Then he made the mistake of putting a photo of himself, and that was his demise.
The site had some funny features though, including a look alike thread in which LA players, past and present, were mirrored by other people or animals or whatever creature looked like them. Like, a la Irish wrote, Taylor and a chipmunk. Or Belisario and the chupacabra. Or the ( forgot) old guy pitcher who looked like Bill Murray...or Juan Pierre and a slow loris. Etc.
It was fun and sometimes very clever...pretty good discussions on The Sopranos, too...the "wtf happened" in the last episode input lasted for weeks.
    Then, the site devoured itself.

Grandy with his 18th HR yesterday VS NYY
Some noise also bubbling up about Grandy perhaps getting a call from Jeter to work in Miami´s FO should he retire after the season

It depends. I don't know if they will want AGon to play everyday when he first comes back.

Honestly, the most productive thing to do would be to call Verdugo up if you send Joc down. Verdugo is ready for a 2-3 week trial in the majors, and sending Joc down opens an everyday spot for Verdugo.

    right on cue...

It's now or never for Dodgers and Joc Pederson
by Howard Cole | Forbes — 12 hours ago

A demotion to the minor leagues is not the end of the world. Not even remotely. It's not a punishment either.

The objective is to help the player; to allow him to work on his game, away from the big city spotlight, and provide a change of scenery. To ease the pressure to the extent possible. Were the Dodgers to option Joc Pederson to the Pacific Coast League for what could be as little as 10 days, they'd be making a move to improve the club's chances in October. And who doesn't want that?

In other words, opportunity knocks, which is what Joc needs to do. Nock. But it's now or never, sports fans, because the Oklahoma City Dodgers are running out of season. There are three weeks and 20 games remaining, with a potential Triple-A postseason series to follow.

Adrian Gonzalez is rehabbing with Single-A Rancho Cucamonga this week, with the prospect of being activated over the weekend in Detroit as the target. Left-handed bat in, left-handed bat. It's the perfect time to switch roster spots, AGon for Joc, with the center fielder catching a plane on the Dodgers' day off Thursday, and his position being manned by Chris Taylor and Kiké Hernandez in the interim.

Yes, the current 1-35 slide is a problem, but you don't send one of your regular eight to the minors for that. You do it to help the player. And baseball players have been benefiting from such a thing for generations. Thirty-one-year-old reliever Josh Fields has shuttled back and forth between the majors and the PCL throughout his two-year Dodgers career, 27-year-old Ross Stripling did it last year, and 29-year-old Pedro Baez was shipped out last August, only to return the better for it.

While 26-year-old Yasiel Puig's demotion a year ago was about his state of mind more than his state of play; well, just look at him now.

Los Angeles has a hesitancy with this particular player. I don't know why, but I do know that after the 25-year-old Pederson slumped badly in the second half of his rookie 2015 campaign (.178/.317/.300, with six home runs and 14 RBIs), his future manager, Dave Roberts, when asked what he would have done with the young man if given a chance, said he would've have sent him to OKC. On his job interview.

Pederson doesn't need to lead the league in much of anything to be an effective Dodger. He needs to get back to hitting .248/.359/.481/.840 just before the 1-35 slide began July 28, while playing primarily against right-hand starting pitchers. Smarter at bats, better harder contact, more walks, and the occasional clutch hit, all of which he is entirely capable of accomplishing.

Ten days in Oklahoma City is not the end of the world. It's a chance to get better. Pederson deserves that chance. You can make an argument that the Dodgers owe it to him. In fact, I think I just did.

    And remember, glove conquers all.
