Howard Cole predicted the Dodgers would finish .500 this year and maintained that opinion through April. From a professional that's unacceptable.

howard cole is just a contributor
most of the time his stuff is meh-to-lame
but occasionally he comes near a mark
as far as the idea of sending joc van slyke down, he's spot on...

Gonzo has sucked in his rehab from what I've heard.

Dude really needs to get into shape. A Biggest Loser stint maybe necessary.

I'd really like to know the difference in Joc's weight this year compared to last...I have never agreed with the vastly overblown obesity thing and the overeating shots he's gotten all season long. Opportunities for laughs, etc., but no real basis in reality. His honest weight numbers must be available somewhere...idk.
However, he does look slower than ever before, especially lately, so maybe I'm wrong. Or there's another legit reason.
Tbh, would the assembled genii button pushers let their CF become the Panda of the NLW?
    I don't think so...

I think it's just that he sucks right now and always has food.

But I don't see any difference from this year and the last two.

He's a punching bag. A soft, doughy, punching bag.

If you would really like to know you could look for it.
The vast overblown obesity thing is and has always been a joke. A joke based on the fact that he has gained a little weight and he has looked slower and aloof in the field. And his hitting sucks. He would not be fat if he was hitting better, regardless of his weight. Comprende?
So yes basis in reality, no you wont understand because its a joke.

Honest weight numbers are only between you and your doctor. That goes triple for pro sports.
Nobody lists true numbers. Stats are for the paying rube not for the guys puttin on the show.
Maybe amateur numbers carry over somewhat into the minor leagues or as a rookie but after that the numbers get skewed for a variety of reasons.

Yes, maybe you are wrong. There is no other legit reason. If there is all you can do is wonder. Let me know when you reach a conclusion.
To be honest you are not being honest because you just called them the assembled genii button pushers.
So while you dont think they may do something that something that you think they may do is not real just something you think.
    And you dont think so....

    what doc said...
    • “I think for Joc there’s a mechanical issue,” Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said. “There’s an approach issue. He understands this: getting back to the big part of the field, he’s going to have more success. When he’s coming out of his swing, getting more rotational and hitting the ball to the second baseman, that’s not where he wants to be.”
    translation...
    • “I think for Joc there’s a mechanical issue eats too much,” Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said. “There’s an approach overeating issue. He only understands this: getting back to the big part of the field meal, he’s going to have more success to eat. When he's coming out of his swing at an all-you-can-eat buffet, getting more rotational and hitting the ball to the second baseman, that’s not exactly where he wants to be.”

I think Howard Cole is a troll and doesn't know dick about the Dodgers or baseball in general for that matter. He's a poor man's Plaschke. Now with that said... he's right on this one. Joc needs to go back down and get his swing right. Not just "Killing AAA pitching" right, he needs to get to where the team wants his swing to be so that he can be a productive MLB hitter going forward. He has entirely too much talent that he's wasting away. And yes the fat stuff is real. He has slowed down considerably and when you look at him now compared to a couple years ago, there's an obvious difference. Projections had him as a 20-20 if not 30-30 guy and he'll be nowhere near that. His D in CF is down as he's slower at getting to the ball. He still reads them better than most do off the bat, but he's lost a step, which is ridiculous for a 25 yr old with no history of leg injuries. Do what they did with Puig last year for Pederson and bring up Verdugo.

There's also a serious lack of baseball IQ issue.

NL roty 3:57 do any of the rockies starters have a realistic chance at winning NL ROTY?

Steve Adams 3:57 Cody Bellinger could probably get abducted by aliens, miss the rest of the season, and still win NL ROY

Unless the aliens wiped all of our memories

3:58 Actually Cody Bellinger might BE an alien. That would explain a lot. No one should be that good at 21.

"21." He's an alien. I'm becoming more convinced by the second.

    eh, it made me laugh.

    great analysis ckwg
    agree on all of it
and it is similar to puig in that they both got content and lazy
puig has responded much better than (at least i) expected
they need to try the same thing with joc
with adrian returning they need to find a way to keep taylor in the lineup every day so cf is his
give verdugo some days against rhp and see what he's got
if alex does well then joc could be the odd man out

Speaking of swings, Gonzo can't hit minor league pitching. Replacing Joc with him seems retarded, like switching Joc with Champ. The time for Verdugo is now. Let's see what this kids got.
