Saw a wide of shot of it last night. The other position players didn't exactly bust their asses getting there, either.

I see it as a ringing lack of endorsement of what Strickland did.

Harper was fully justified in running out there but I'm disappointed he didn't do more damage :sobbing:

As I wrote, in Buster, beats the heart of a shrew. Doesn't matter who started it.
We, obviously, come from vastly different backgrounds...that's fine that you believe that, but wouldn't fly in my old neighborhood.
We are all products of our past environments.
Never seen similar to his behavior, before, ever, and that's my gut reaction.

Hopefully the ROX and DBags hang in there until the end and keeping pushing LAD
Keep LAD sharp throughout..no big 10/15 game lead in the division
I want playoff intensity in August and September, no coasting

In all of MLB, the 6th fastest running time on a triple this season belongs to Cody Bellinger.

I've never seen anything like it before either. I don't know much, but I know catchers are a different breed and more than just guys who can squat and catch a ball. It seems that Posey (and Boche) are trying to rewrite the book on that, but what should we expect from a converted-shortstop-should-be-first-baseman? Posey literally didn't take a step until Harper threw a punch, I don't even have words to describe that.

Just to make sure I'm not going crazy, and this isn't just a trend in modern baseball, I pulled up this video of fights from last year. Catchers around the league still know what they're supposed to do. The video has the added bonus of watching Bumgarner and Bautista act like douches. Also, I like Russell Martin... I know we gave him a hard time (mostly because of his approach while hitting) but he's always been a catcher first guy, the opposite of Posey, and I respect that.

It's called "wearing the tools of ignorance"

Not "wearing the tools that will help me get called up sooner and sign for more money because there is less competition at the position"

What I'm trying to say is, Posey is a bitch. There's no player post-steroid-era that is single-handedly ruining the game more than Buster Posey.

And fuck Strickland. But also fuck the giants for leaving their teammate out to dry. I get that he's a douche, but you'd think they could overcome that because of their beltishly jolly team chemistry.

As great as Tim Duncan is I always thought he was kind of a cop out for playing PF and not Center.

That whole team is an imploding mess. Something tells me they can't stand each other anymore. BumHick goes off busting his shoulder dirt biking, Posey appears to be too "clean" to protect his pitcher, while no one seems to like Strickland because of his tendency to grove fastballs down the middle.

Posey gets angry at Belt and Crawford for god who knows. The announcers who are paid Gnat shills say nothing but how good the SP is but they are just "snake bit" and avoids the issue that it's just a shitty team all around. Their rookie "savior" is hitting under .200 and will probably be sent down. No relief anywhere in the minor leagues.

And now Bochey is seen pretty much worrying only that Buster doesn't get injured in the fight.

I really wish the Nats plunk Posey today. THAT would make it even.

That video reminds me how much I hate Bumgarner. He's such a douche. Thinks he's the emotion police on the field, that he's going to enforce what emotion guys can or cannot display out there. Yet he'll glare at umps all day when not getting the call he wants. This one still irks me: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LHYjOqHSNZc

But then it's okay for him to show up the ump:

Edit: First link is of him barking at Guerrero, second is of him staring down West. For some reason they're not both linked the same.

Those videos are hard to watch, there's so many things wrong.

Not to gloss over Bumgarner's douchiness, but your video is also another example that Buster Posey doesn't know how to be a catcher.

Good to see that Corey leads in AS voting thus far, really surprised those Cubs "fans" haven't put Russell up there especially when Hayward is leading in RF!!! No surprise Bryant is leading 3rd.

Reports are that Posey has been ordered not to get involved in fights. Believe it or not but it does make sense not to risk their best player. Would I want Corey or Cody fighting and potentially getting hurt, no.

When will they replace Andre with Cody on the left field ballot?

I don't think they can now so just have to write Cody in.

Good mailbag by Andy Mccalough this morning.

Made a good point about how the Dodgers chose to move on from Puig last season by acquiring Josh Reddick and sending him to AAA. When Joc comes back, Puig should be the first to take a seat. His defense is great, but he ranks towards the bottom of every offensive categories among qualifying outfielders. He can't hit a fastball and his mechanics are terrible.

Also, if Joc doesn't get it together either, it's critical the Dodgers explore a trade for a RH slugger to play corner OF. They need some consistent offense out there. He mentioned JD Martinez and Bautista as guys who can provide that offense for less of a financial commitment than Braun.

Braun is on the DL AGAIN, Jose is universally disliked but JD is interesting.
