Hey all of you Ventura Co folks. Stay safe, fire has burned 15k plus acres in less than 5 hours
I was there on a work assignment at a Von's, of course it was cancelled. Could see the fire from the freeway. Wind was crazy as well. Prayers for all indeed that fire is moving hella fast.
That’s my hometown and it’s on fire. I’m not sleeping tonight, doesn’t @irish live there? Anyways All of Camarillo to Santa Barbara is without power
another fire in sylmar and in chatsworth its been hurricane force winds all night blowing it straight at us
ventura is up to 33m acres and no end in site
hoping for morning light to get the boys in the air w water drops
truly grim for a lot of people
take care gentlemen
i'm safe, but without power
hard to complain when 4 people i know have already lost their homes
just fucken brutal
That is horrible man I'm sorry. The wind is making this so incredibly worse, can't predict where it'll go next. THANK GOD for the fire fighters. This will get worse for our foreseeable future, being prepared is going to be crucial.
firefighters just announced they have 0% containment
fire is burning at a rate of 1 acre per second!
please be safe all my dsp brothers
winds are up to 75+
a sustained 75 is hurricane force
i was up and roaming the property from 2am on trying to assess and plan for damage and it was gusting me nearly off my feet
this is not a typical santa ana, at least not up in the west valley
fortunate part for me is its blowing the fire and smoke straight south from the east valley
that can change quick and i think it might be a long night again tonight
once that fire heads west all they can do is keep it up on the ridge and try to force it to the ocean
sucks to be west hills, calabassas and malibu about now
some people have lost their houses
several friends have had to evacuate
wind has laid down a bit...
but it did the same thing last night and then came back at gale force (literally)
thoughts and prayers to everyone affected by this
oh shit a new fire at 405 and getty ctr w the strongest winds coming
this one has potential for full disaster
anyone else think this could be terrorism?
My best to you guys going through this shit.
What an unbelievable year for this type of thing.
any time something bad happens you have to consider those swarthy little nefarious fucks
so sick of people looking for things to be upset/offended by
and what the fuck does this painting have to do with sexual allegations?
it's a 1930's painting for fuck's sake, a work of art from a place in time where people weren't such fucken pussies
tell you what... put together a list of books/movies/music/artwork/statues/flags/team mascots, etc that you find offensive and start a fucken blog
someone should so them some chester the molester or zap comics so their heads would explode

NYC museum refuses to remove controversial painting of girl
Associated Press — 7 hours ago
NEW YORK (AP) — New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art has refused to remove a 1938 painting by the artist known as Balthus that depicts a young girl in what some are saying is a sexually suggestive pose.
The painting , entitled "Therese Dreaming," shows the girl leaning back with her underwear visible. The late Polish-French artist, born Balthasar Klossowski, is known for his erotically-charged images of pubescent girls.
An online petition that had garnered thousands of signatures on Monday urged the museum to rethink its decision to display the painting in light of today's climate around sexual assault.
"Given the current climate around sexual assault and allegations that become more public each day, in showcasing this work for the masses, The Met is romanticizing voyeurism and the objectification of children," the petition reads.
The petition's author, Mia Merrill, suggested that the painting be replaced by one created by a female artist of the same period.
Museum spokesman Ken Weine said the decision to not remove the painting provides an opportunity to reflect on today's culture.
"Moments such as this provide an opportunity for conversation, and visual art is one of the most significant means we have for reflecting on both the past and the present and encouraging the continuing evolution of existing culture through informed discussion and respect for creative expression," Weine said.
the Met has a whole section of gay pedo art
i hate that kind of shit but its "art"
find something else to worry about
Rube will most certainly like this.
Former student came to see me today ... he's 22, and just knocked up his GF. How'd he meet her? She was the stripper at his buddy's 21st birthday party ....
How many times do I have to tell you ....
OC can be a shithole of non-culture, but I suppose I'm grateful that all this shitty concrete limits potential wildfires. Even still, I take nothing for granted.
I truly hope all y'all in harm's way are safe and undamaged.
the weather people straight struck out on this prediction
and so glad they did
rather a large generalization would you not agree??
Because the likes of Rube and I (or yourself) can only be good or bad?
Takes more than a grain of salt, on the lip of my margarita glass, to agree with that one bubba
