Santana is dealing so far. 10 K's after 4, including 8 in a row. When they did make contact it was very weak. Goes 4.1 and comes out after an error by Drew Jackson.

Ruiz and Peters have both hit bombs as well.

Buehler K'd 3 in a row, but a single and an error on an easy GDP has prolonged his second inning. Kinda fighting it right now with some deep counts already and then a bases loaded single for the pitcher. The E seems to have really bothered him.

Ruiz, Peters and Smith all had solid games. 2 Bombs and almost a 3rd by Ruiz, 3-3 for Smith with a few hard base hits, 3-5 for Peters including a laser HR to left.

Alex Verdugo is off to a nice start and from the looks of it, has added some loft to his swing. Hit a HR the other night where this change was pretty noticeable. K's are up early, but still really low. Only worrisome thing is that he has only walked once this year thus far. Last 2 years saw him take good steps forward in that category, so him reverting would be not be great.

I'm not 100% sure if there is a site that does that for the minors. Would be nice to know if there was.

    Congrats CKG.

There isn't anything public that tracks certain minor league stats at least from what I've found.

    A few weekend notes;
    - Connor Wong's mediocre start to the season continues as he hit only his 7th and 8th HR's of the season on Sunday. Took him 12 whole games to do it. Hopefully he starts to pick things up this week.
    - Cristian Santana is off to a decent start, but so far he has struck out at about 28% and hasn't begun to hit with a lot of power.
    - Jeren Kendall is off to a very slow start, which is disappointing. The changes in his mechanics are still taking shape and it's a well documented transition.
The Tulsa Drillers team as a whole is an interesting team to watch as they have a lot of interesting prospects.
    - DJ Peters, as many people surely know, I have easily been the biggest DJ Peters believer here and my years of support are being rewarded(don't research this). DJ has started AA with a 1.014 OPS and is strength is real. Dude ripped a line drive HR this week that was very impressive and his K rate is down 7% early(something he said he was working on. He keeps this up and we have another big time prospect on our hands.
    - Yusniel Diaz was held back in Ext ST along with a couple other bigger prospects that haven't yet made an appearance(wonder if Edwin Rios could be getting reps at 3B or COF?). He has announced his return with authority by going 7 for 13, 1 HR and 2 walks in the 3 games since his return.
    - Keibert Ruiz seems to be having some bad BABIP luck early.
    - Will Smith is off to a good start offensively which is the only thing that hold him back from being a top tier catching prospect.
    - Keep an eye on Drew Jackson, we are now in year 2 of his mechanics makeover and early results at AA are positive. He's slashing .295/.380/.568 in the early going with 3 HR's and 5 BB's. He is probably not got going to turn into JT or CT 3.0, but if he can put up average numbers, he's a damn valuable utility player. 11 game hitting streak since the 0-fer in the opener, but has reached base every game this season. Has 70 speed and 70 arm.
    - Dennis Santana is probably someone we should be ready to see some point this season. Dude looks special and he absolutely worked Midland over in his last start which included 8 consecutive K's and 10 total in 4.1 innings. He was also not getting any favors from the ump who started squeezing him a bit in the 4th inning after his consecutive K streak ended. This is someone that I have seen scouts say could be a legit front of the rotation starter if he can put it together with his secondary pitches. I think he was working Midland over with his top flight sinkers last week, but I could be wrong... the camera angle and quality is shity there. This is the type of guy who could thrive going forward in the new age of baseball where is stuff elicits a lot of whiffs and keeps the ball on the ground mostly, though he has already given up a couple of HR's.
    - Caleb Ferguson continues to get ZERO love and yet he continues to roll. His first start of the season was only .2 due to a weather delay, but the 2 starts since have been impressive. After getting worked over in Rookie ball in 2015, this guy has ended the last two seasons with 2.31 and 2.87 ERA's and thus far this season has only given up a run in 10.1. I don't know what the future holds for this guy, but he is going to be an interesting watch candidate. Has some similarities to Rich Hill, which as we have seen can definitely work long term.
    - Yadier Alvarez is showing signs that the command/control issues that plagued him so far are still there. We shall see, but if some of the other young starting arms in the system continue to move forward, the pen may be closer on the horizon for the fireballing Cuban lefty.
Andrew Toles is still out with an injury after his hot start and the OKC Dodgers as a whole are just crushing right now.
    - Tim Locastro has continued his rise to prominence with a hot start to the season. The future UTL player has hit ever since he got to AAA late last season. He, like Jackson above are useful depth in the system.
    - Alex Verdugo is still doing his thing, but is striking out at a much higher rate than years past in the early goings as he adjusts his swing to get more loft. For example, he just hit his 4th HR of the season a few minutes ago, but in this morning set has also struck out. He is now 66% of the way to matching his HR totals from last season while also being 26% the way there in K's after only 13% of the AAA season.
    - Brock Stewart has put things back together so far this season with a move back to the rotation. I have said it before on here, the way the club handled him last year was criminal. Would love to see him put it all together and get back to being a solid middle of the rotation option.
    - Manny Banuelos just cruised in the same game that I mentioned about in regards to Verdugo. He has been a nice story in the early goings. For those that do not know, Banuelos was former top pitching prospect who fell from grace after a couple of injuries that cost him some MPH's. So far, 20 IP on the season, 11 H, 4 BB and 23 K's.

Interesting read on Gavin Lux. Hope this kid is starting to figure things out

    Excited about Peters.
I know Werth is a lazy comp, but one my earliest memories at Dodger Stadium is a HR Werth hit...a line drive laser that bounced off the top of the fence in dead CF.

    Yup.
Super excited about this guy. Love the rednecky long haired big LF types who throw their body around and hit home runs yet have just enough athleticism to cover CF if needed and enough arm strength to play RF as well.

@blazer5 got it. I have been one of Peters’ harshest critics due to his K #’s. He’s got a lot of positive momentum going right now not only with his results, but also word of his strong character and work ethic. Sounds very Cody Bellingerish in that regard, which is great.

    Surfers are rednecks.
If you prefer to spend your time outdoors in the woods, in the mountains, in the deserts, in the rivers, lakes, or beaches... you a redneck.
And if you are not sure if you are a redneck or not you need to get two mirrors and check yo neck. I betcha its red.
