Here are a few of the likely tough signs from round 11 on:

    16th round: Trey Dillard, RHP
"Arizona high school product who originally committed to North Carolina, Dillard wound up at San Jacinto (Texas) JC instead, making him Draft-eligible as a freshman this spring. He and McLennan (Texas) CC catcher/right-hander Josh Breaux excited scouts when they both hit 98 mph while facing each other on Feb. 9, but both have pitched sparingly since while dealing with elbow issues. Dillard has added significant physical strength in the last year, boosting his fastball from 88-92 mph as a prep starter to 93-98 mph as a JUCO reliever. His breaking ball has gotten quicker as well, becoming a power slurve with curveball break and slider velocity at 82-86 mph. As impressive as his pure stuff is, he requires a lot of polish. Dillard has a faster-paced tempo and some effort in his delivery that adds deception but also leads to unreliable command and control. If he can stay healthy and do a better job of locating his pitches, he could become a high-leverage reliever. He has committed to Missouri for 2019 if he doesn't turn pro this summer."

24th rounder Jacen Roberson figures to be a tough sign as a good athlete with upside.

38th rounder Connery Peters is highly unlikely to sign (I would think), but worth a shot with that big frame 6'6 235, a ton of project-ability.

The same would would probably be said of 40th round pick Ben Specht, the High School Senior is a long shot at best to sign.

I will go more in-depth on these and others when more info comes out.

The last two days have been a major bummer for both Ferguson and Santana. For one, Caleb wasn't close to being ready to be up here and oh boy did it show. He is going to have to add a slider and/or improve his change to be a starter in this league. Sometimes getting your ass handed to you may kick you up to another gear. He is not Kershaw, but somewhat reminds me of him with that good curve and only a fastball to boot. It wasn't until Kershaw added that slider that he really took off, so hopefully he can add a good one with that spin rate he has going for him. With that said, he probably shouldn't see big league action again this season.

The Santana thing is very unfortunate and that is the type of injury that I could see this FO use as an excuse to keep him down in the minors the rest of the way as well. Gotta believe that this club will make a trade in the next day or two.

Overall, both showed some good stuff on the surface, but both have definite things they need to improve on before seeing big league action again.

Didn't understand this pick because of the fact that we have some pretty talented catchers in the system that are young already but they know best.

8th-rder Luke Heyer signs w/@Dodgers for $47,500 (pick 254 = $155,300). Kentucky OF/3B, senior sign exploded for 18 HR and 1.131 OPS this spring, strength is his best asset, solid arm too. @MLBDraft

Offensive numbers are inflated due to the hitting environment, but an interesting player.

According to @jimcallismlb, the Dodgers signed 9th-rounder Josh McLain for $7,500, CF, N.C. State.
    ------------
    Pick value was $143,600.

With 4 of the Top 10 signed they have spent $825,000. The recommended slot for those picks is $1,002,000, so they are about $175k under, however, they spent an extra $25k on their 17th round pick. So the net is about $150k to the good.

    Confirmation on that pick:
    Jim Callis‏Verified account@jimcallisMLB
17th-rder Aldrich DeJongh signs w/@Dodgers for $150k ($25k vs bonus pool). Hillsborough (Fla.) CC OF, speed is his best tool, .376/.425/.593 this spring w/33 SB in 40 tries, was at Florida Atlantic as a freshman in 2017.

Thank you. I used to be so into the draft when I was on the ESPN boards, almost completely forgot it was happening until an hour before.

Trying this again: 7th-rder James Outman signs w/@Dodgers for $157.5K (pick 224 value = $184.2K). Sac State OF with tools. Plus athlete with power, question if he'll hit enough.
    ---------------
Net savings of about $26K, bringing the total to ~$176K.
