i remember that song by donavon my sister had all those old records i think she might have tried it iirc, did it work for you?
Old hippies told me about the banana peel. You gotta scrape the inside threads and dry them or something. Shit u can get a buzz from all sorts of things in the woods. I grow a fruit that makes u feel like u had a couple beers if you eat a few. The custard apple.
Not really...tried it, and immediately went back to Thai stick. Like Porsches, there is no substitute.
It's neither. The cherimoya is called custard apple. It tastes like custard with hints of green apple. It is in the sapote family of saps. There is a now rare variety of the white sapote tree that was destroyed by the Spanish conquistadors every time they saw it. One idea is that it was because the fruit was poison. The friars who directed it's eradication named it Matasano aka sanity killer. But mata in Spanish also means plant. And sano also means health. So the killer of sanity could also be the plant of health. Competing ideas are that since natives loved this tree the Catholics chopped em down to suppress their culture as that was the modus operandi. Funny enough sano/healthy is where we get words like saint/wholesome. And mata is related to nata in that all matre nature matures onto death. All this confuses historians. So is it a bad plant or a good plant? Depends if you are native or conqueror? Depends if you eat the low hanging quickly fermenting fruit that is all sugar or you use the tree for it's good wood and disease fighting leaves. Modern medicine has shown that the chemicals in the leaves of this tree are being used in cutting edge cancer research. Natives have been using the leaves for years to cure all sorts of diseases. When I was really sick a few years ago I drank a lot of tea from these leaves for months. But I also ate tons of the fruit. BTW it tastes like custard with candy banana. Not real banana flavor but that chemical used to flavor banana flavored sweetarts and taffy. Depending how ripe it is it can also taste somewhat like candied apple or even canned peaches. The taste shifts depending on the stage of maturity but always sweet and juicy and creamy and good. Most have been eradicated in Mexico but alot remain in California as shade trees with massivr foilage. And because they drop a lot of fruit into heavily mulched dirt due to all the leaves this thing drops the fruit quickly fertilizes and sprouts new trees that grow super fast all around it.
pretty sure i've had cherimoya as well never remember catching a buzz either but maybe it never overcame the weed and tequila then again perhaps you need to eat 50-300 of them?
The cherimoya does not give you a buzz. The matasano variety of white sapote which is a cousin of cherimoya the closest comparable fruit you can buy at some of your local supermarkets does give you a buzz. You dont have to eat 30. With 6 or 7 is enough. They are usually not very big. About a kiwi or small apricot.
Fascinating stuff there, Rube. I'll have to try it, although very recently been told because of really high triglycerides, to stay away from fruits. I thought I was.doing the right thing by eating a lot of them. Btw, the one paragraph where you mentioned suppressing the natives, reminded me what occurred in our own country by eliminating the American bison, their food source and so much more. Or trying to.
Yeah, the killing of the bison is a huge stain on this country that most of us gloss over as not a big deal. Something I have always loved about how our country started is that when the first generations born in this country of the bison decided they wanted to cleave themselves from their european past they put on their bison skins and turkey feathers and dressed up as natives before they fired up the tea party. You can eat any fruit you want. You just cant eat a lot of it or every day because it builds up that sugar/alcohol/trig bridge. You can have a handful of matasanos once in a while. Unless it is some tree whose fruit you are never supposed to eat. Hmmm... there used to be a lot of snakes around before.
Perhaps sharing this is unneccessary, but an old Cockney expression about this very thing, is "shitting through the eye of a needle". One of many that conjure up a unique mental picture...
But the American bison, down to almost total extinction, has made a spectacular comeback. The European versions, however, did not fare as well unfortunately. I saw last night on Nature, that Przewalski's horse, a cousin of our species indigenous to Mongolia, , was down to 20 at one time. Twenty individuals. Fascinating animals with a super strong social drive. But they are OK now, and back like Russell Martin. Nice to know a success story can still happen with this sort of thing, instead of the constant, dreary news about the end of another species from earth.
So AF had a plan after all? By bringing back The Bison he was appealing to all the environmentalist baseball fans who still consume large quantities of overpriced hot dogs and beer? Now, he's after the street corner saxophone performers who love to park their cars and use their Mastercards! Damn, and here I was underestimating his smarts all along!?! Maybe he really is a genius????
oh yeah thats what i was saying about the fact it was a huge stain it was ugly but in the end we saved the species unlike many other bison not something you hope for but it worked out in the end unlike wussell martin
Doctors gave my Tita 3 months to live terminal cancer in lungs, liver, abdominal region, and cervical cancer. Not curable Scans were clear December 3rd or 5th but this is a very aggressive form of cancer. Losing weigh, currently 194lbs. Was 198 lbs when she was checked in 5 days ago. She decided to go with chemo, in hopes to extend her life up to two months. She can't leave her family. She's right too. Lioness of the pride. I have her starting to take cbd daily. Will have her 1500 MG and up, sometime this upcoming week. Need to get her eating so thc is an obvious choice, i will do that tomorrow and offer it too her. Afraid to give her too much though because edibles can turn on you quick. Small doses every 4 hours may be the way to go If you all have anything you find useful, i would be thankful for the read. All suggestions are welcomed. She isn't going out without a proper fight
February 5, 2016 when my wife died of lung and liver cancer and it still hurts and it doesn't help that I feel guilty for not saying I love you enough. Guilty for even for a slight moment when I thought of myself instead of her. Do what you are doing in the care you are providing but don't ever forget to encourage and love and even when it seems bleak to have faith. All I have brother good luck to you!!!!!!!!!!
About all I've got is some good thoughts and prayers and a "hang in there." Really feel for you. Fuck cancer.
stay strong my friend so sorry to hear of this i've had far too many friends and family afflicted by this horrible disease love and prayers to your and yours bro you're a good man doughty and your wife knows this better than anyone no need to beat yourself up, and she surely wouldn't want you to you should have zero guilt my friend
Lost my wife of 43 years in 2011. A lioness too, of superior spirit and core. The last one I think of when I go to bed, and the first one I think of when I wake up. Still, after 7+ years. When I dwell on my errors of comission, and the ones of omission, my heart hurts for not doing what I should have and shouldn't have when the time was there in front of me...now I long for those days back in utter futility. Use the present for the priceless time it offers. Fare well and fortify yourself...
