Getting the F out of this humid (94 degrees, 75% humidity) hell hole of Des Moines today. Slightly less torturous than watching Dodger baseball the past two evenings.

Good news (yes, there is some).....Mookie, Freddie and Teo swinging it like they can. Bad news...everything else.

1-18 with RISP. Yama should have had a six or seven run cushion to work with in what turned out to be an off night for him. 11 hits, 6 BBs and 3 HBPs. Yes they scored six, but it should have been much more.

It's like picking on the short bus kids at this point, but fuck Tucker. It's one thing to play like dogshit, it's another to act like you don't give a shit. Trotting to first after your half assed bloop hit. Then dogging it to first while grounding into an inning ending DP. He wouldn't have made it, but at least make an effort. Contrast that with Muncy. In a terrible slump, but busted his ass to first after a dropped strike three. One guy cares, the other is collecting a pay check.

Just give No Sho a 10 vacation on the IL. He's a liability in a lineup which needs all hands (especially its best hitter) on deck.

 

obviously i'd normally go after davey but i think this confirms my diva theory. no way he makes this statement out loud like that about a star player. shohei is embarrassed at his play. these guys have physical therapists watching how they lift a spoon every day. i've been watching ohtanis facial expressions lately and it looks to me like he has no idea why he's struggling and pressing. i've never seen him react like he did to those inside pitches yesterday. even the StL bench got on him. the man has God like status all over the world and this isn't supposed to happen. i think the team has a much bigger problem.

 

Apparently he hasn't spoken to the press in a couple of weeks.

 

This is awful. I'm reluctant to even follow - let alone watch - this team play. If they weren't B2B WS champs and in 1st place, I'd swear this was one of those Cesar Izturis lineups ... just awful.

I am really tired of the performance he goes through at tbe plate. It's just tedious now.
Just get the walk back to the dugout perfected...that's the result most of the time, anyway.
