    For all his other-worldly accolades and accomplishments, Shohei has only 2 walk-off HRs and 4 walk-off hits in his career. Seems very low to me for a 9-year veteran who's been named MVP four times. Remember, he's always hit first or second in order to get him more plate appearances and to maximize the amount of times he gets up when the game is on the line in the ninth inning.

    In comparison, Justin Turner had 7 game winners, Ethier had 14, and Freeman is at 20, and collectively they have one MVP between them. Let me repeat it... Shohei has 4 game winning hits - basically almost one every other year.

    It's time to stop pretending he's a good option at leadoff or the player we most would want to see come up in a high pressure 9th inning AB. He can still hit 500-ft bombs in blowout games from lower in the order to keep the sportswriters happy.

    really REALLY hoping dipshit dave keeps tommy in the leadoff spot when shohei returns
    asinine IMO to have your best hitter (when he’s right) continually hitting with no one on base
