Sounds like the Packers drafted a bum. Wonderful
The run on DBs is coming
D-line predictably dominating
They might have been able to get Ferrell somewhere between 8-15 with a trade back. That said, after Bosa, Quinnen Williams and Hockenson at the very top and way out front, everyone else from 4-20 are sort of jumbled up and close in talent. After the 20th, maybe 22nd pick, the 2nd round sort of begins in terms of talent. RAIDERS screwed up by winning late in the season, should've tanked better, would've been in line for Bosa or Williams, but I'm glad they didn't trade up for either of them because they need all their picks and Ferrell is plug and play right away.
Ferrell's not a curious pick, not for me. I actually said they'd get one of the Clemson D-lineman after the Mack trade. He's a safe pick, scheme fit, high character and high production. SEC defensive player of the year, leader, 2 time national champ. Can't wait to see what they do with the other 2 picks tonight. Wouldn't hate it at all if they went safe again, both times and both on defense, but they could use a tight end. I would've been pretty satisfied with taking Hockenson @ 4, but the defense is definitely worse off in comparison to what they have offensively
So glad the RAIDERS didn't go there
Yup, we're definitely into the 2nd round now
Savage to Pack
Ghost of Al Davis is picking for the Pack. Yay
Exactly. I saw so many mock drafts that had the RAIDERS reaching for Gary it sickened me.
Mayock grabbed his ghostbuster's suit and ran Al's ass outta the building, but he must have moved into GB Lol
But his numbers in college are lackluster relatively especially with a talented D line that Clemson had. All I'm saying is that he may be a stud, but he BETTER be at 4. If he was in th teens or 20's, that would have been a genius pick.
And this wouldn't even have been a problem if they just vs e Khalil Mack what he wanted.
It just seems Gruden takes his own pride over the overall team.
Ferrell played on a hell of a D-line. That's why his numbers are the way they are.
RAIDERS had a hell of a lot of holes, spent $115M in guaranteed money this offseason..Mack wanted 90
Now Josh Jacobs @ RB
Best RB in the draft, keep the chains moving, help the defense
Gotta get back to defense at 27
KC is probably looking WR with what's about to happen to Tyreek Hill
Fastest Madden curse casualty in history..Mahomes get the cover and the Hill stuff leaks on the same day. We'll see what happens, but it doesn't look good for Hill
Best safety in the draft @ 27
So you're down with Abram and Jacobs but maybe not Ferrell unless he steps up?
Overall, as a non-Raider fan, I'd say that wasn't a bad Round 1
Definitely could have done worse
I'm good with Ferrell, felt a year ago they'd end up with one of the Clemson D-lineman.
Things fell correctly. They probably wished one of the MLBs had fallen, but Abram has those traits, should see sub package LB snaps
Cornerback is probably next. The corners have fallen, so big value early in the 2nd round..potential for a trade back, RAIDERS still have a pick @ 35
Yeah Mack was greedy but NFL life is way short
and no one gets out alive
so you can't blame him for taking his cash while he could get it
OTOH the Raiders 'could' have been a bit more prepared for that since they knew that they weren't going to pay him
Still a solid draft so far.. and yeah they need DB's in a bad way
Damn. 1st corner off the board to the Giants. Let's the games begin
Yeah I don't blame Mack at all. Don't blame the RAIDERS for not going all the way up to his number either.
Good business for all. RAIDERS have replaced Mack and Cooper with like 15-20 new players, young players with talent. Their oldest addition arguably the best player in the NFL, 30 yr old future HOF WR
Brady has N'Keal Harry now.
I had the same reaction as this guy
